Long Term Acute Care

Long Term Acute Care is available for nurses to discuss Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) and Long Term Acute Care Hospitals (LTACH). This nursing specialty area focuses on patients who are normally discharged from immediate acute care (ICU), but due to complex problems, require extended care that they may not be able to receive in a rehabilitation unit, SNF or in their private home. Come here to discuss topics such as rehabilitative care, dialysis, prolonged ventilator use and ventilator weaning, and wound care.
