  1. Thank you for the insight!
  2. They should be able to understand, companies are looking at the most qualified applicants as well as applicants looking at the best fitting companies. Just be respectful and maybe even give a brief reason.
  3. This is a post from an interview that a nurse practitioner did ''I graduated with a degree in family health, and the positions I usually pick-up are roles that are within family medicine, usually 3 months and ongoing contracts. Longer contracts equal more experience. Taking time off for myself allows me to spend time with my family, stay in tune with myself and the things I like to do, put myself and my needs first. I usually work contracts that are convenient for me. ''
  4. Do what you think it best for you.
  5. It's because school doesn't prepare us. When you are thrown into an emergency situation in the real world that's when you learn.
  6. There is so much more to nursing that working in a hospital. I say this because many tend to work there. You have to prioritize your mental health and if that requires working in a less acute area or taking a pay cut that may be the best option. I think even more are leaving right now because they don't want to be forced to take the vaccine.
  7. I don't really think you should stay where you are unhappy. You have experience so I don't think you should have a hard time getting hired.
  8. The market seems too competitive for there to be a nursing shortage. I have read countless of threads about people filling out 100+ applications before getting an interview.
  9. I'm sorry to hear that. I know that it can be frustrating and disheartening trying to figure out what it best for you. Long term care like you mentioned, school nurse, dialysis nurse, or maybe even a doctors office could be options. Those outpatient jobs can be monotonous and predictable but it could be what you need since you mentioned that you have anxiety.
  10. I had an interview last Friday. The nurse manager said that they'll be in touch. I believe that the interview went well and I sent her a thank you email shortly after. How long after an interview with the NM did you guys get an offer?
  11. Did they tell you how long you'll be with a preceptor?
