If I hear that phrase here one more time, I might have to slap you in the forehead. Stop. Please.
I will not accept that Snowflakes and COBs are the only options. There must be a happy medium in there somewhere.
There is...... "wicked awesome sauce"
And that starter set comes with glitter, rainbows, a unicorn.....or a My Little Pony with the glitter mane for those 80's fans out there.....
From the Friends wiki:In "The One Where Chandler Can't Cry", it was revealed that Ursula works in the Mediaography industry, using her sister's first name so she was credited as Phoebe Buffay. She appeared in such films as "Buffay the Vampire Layer", "Sex Toy Story 2", "Lawrence of a Labia" (an actual adult film title), and "Inspect Her Gadget". Phoebe paid her back by taking all her checks from the Mediao film company, as the checks were addressed to "Phoebe Buffay".
Sorry for the hijack. Back to snowcones.
Lawrence of a Labia made me laugh so much my hubby asked what is so damn funny? So I told him and now we're both laughing. I don't watch Media as a rule, but I might have to make an exception for that one.
I was replying to Autumn Apple BSN post about pvt and nclex, but did something wrong so her comments didn't post. Sorry, maybe I'm just a COB whose mind is going. lolWhat would they have done back in the old days we waited months to find out whether we passed boards. Most of us were already working as GN's and I watched two fellow new grads be demoted to CNA's when they failed their boards. There was no shortcut or quick and easy answer! Also it was a two 8 hour day affair with pencil and paper and you had better know everything! Glad I passed!
Yes, but as I have been told by many a new nurse here, the NCLEX they have to take is much, much , much , much ,much more difficult than the one you and I took. I mean, ours was all about how to scrub floors, make hospital corners, and stand at attention when a doctor came to the nurse's station. Theirs was about how to do things like how to do a tracheostomy with only an Exact-O knife and a pen, performing a pericardial window in the jungle, and delivering a baby at gunpoint.
So while we may have waited months to get our results, we really didn't have time to think about it, because we were too busy scrubbing floors and emptying bedpans.

I keep telling my preceptor this, but she doesn't seem to understand.

Don't forget holding charts for doctors during rounds. And getting their coffee just right. *snerk*
Yes there is a nurse where I work that is referred to as the princess. I think if she knew that she would agree and approve! lol
At my hospital if you work a 4-hour shift it's called a princess shift, and whoever works it is called the princess. So, it's not uncommon to have the following conversation:
RN: who's the princess today?
Charge: Dogen is the princess, he'll be in at 11.
Then when I arrive people say, "hi, princess!"
It's the sort of thing that's not going to survive the first complaint, but right now everyone loves picking up a 4-hour shift once in a while, so no one cares what you call it.
