So all that time everyone was telling me that I wouldn't have a life during my first year of nursing school, I kind of wish I paid them no mind
The first semester is coming to a close and I'm starting to regret quitting my job to focus solely on nursing school. Don't get me wrong I HATED my job (worked at a grocery store around the corner from my house...convenience) but I feel like I could've been a little bit more productive. I was told that the nursing program will be more stressful and more of a load next semester but this semester, I've been sitting on my butt and studying/writing care plans. I know many of you are probably saying well get of your bum and get a job then . I'm just venting. I'd really like to get started on getting some sort of volunteer experience, but I don't know where to start when none of it really has anything to do with healthcare.
When the semester ends, I can get my CNA license without taking the test, by proof of completing Fundamentals. I plan to work per diem with that...hopefully with an externship or tech position. Anyway, I hope all of you are having an amazing semester!

Free time? What's that?
I wish I could crack a book that didn't contain the word "Nursing" on the cover. I miss reading for fun so badly.

I listen to music (well, even while studying) and sleep (I miss sleeping peacefully like before starting nursing school)

I spend time with my husband and kiddies. Clean the house or do one of my ten million loads of laundry waiting. I know everyones school is different but at my school the first semester was pretty easy, I'm nearing the end of my second and it's definately a lot more time consuming. I've heard from students ahead of me the third gets even harder so you may not be quite so bored for long. :)

Besides work, with my boyfriend and family and friends. I still like to hang out and have a good time.

I make time away from studying and school. I think it's very important to have down time to relax and revive. I'll do anything from enjoying a glass of wine to hanging out with friends. Quality is more important than quantitiy so any time that I set aside is precious and should be thoroughly enjoyed.

im not sure what people mean when they say they have no free time, unless they work full time and go to school full time..
i work per diem (usually twice a week, sometimes more, sometimes less), and go to school five days a week and i have plenty of free time. strange...
tonight is trick or treat night in my town so i am dressing up as a zombie nurse and handing out candy to little kids. haha.

Besides sleeping I'm an avid movie watcher....anything to get my mind in a different world for 2 hours. It usually does the trick and its a nice break from everything else for a little while. :)
