Frontliner, 11 year veteran RN, in the Emergency Department. For the last year and a half, I have been exposed to so much Covid I feel I'm so blessed. I have had it splash in my face, eyes and mouth. I have taken antibody test and just can't seem to test pos for any antibodies ... which rules me out for an asymptomatic "Super Spreader!" If my employer mandates the Covid Vaccine I will be looking for RN jobs that do not require the vaccine. I'm employed in North Carolina but willing to travel for Jobs that do not require the Vaccine. It's my body and my choice. This thread is for links and discussion of RN jobs that do not require the Covid vaccine. Stay safe all! You could die tomorrow from a drunk driver. So don't fear death, I do not, and you should not either. Fear what happens after death.

Sorry about all the nasty replies. I wouldn’t want any of them to be my nurse, how about that? There are plenty of places that don’t mandate vaccines. From what I know, stay away from the West Coast and Colorado. Texas and Montana made it ILLEGAL to require the shot, 10 other states made it non-mandatory as well. You just need to look and don’t be afraid to ask your recruiter.

Thank you Angitia for outing the states with the most anti-intellectualism.  Texas and Montana, you say?  Color me shocked

The state mandates, or lack thereof, will be moot likely around January when the CMS mandate comes back.

The religious exemption wouldn't apply to direct care jobs under the CMS rule.

And I don't think there's anything "nasty" about advocating for the safety of our patients, that's an essential requirement to be a nurse.

Safety matters. Count your lucky stars starting today. Please don't  get ill. I hope you'll be always safe from any illness.

If you are a nurse, you seem to be confused about your role as a professional vs an untrained, unlicensed person such as a politician.  Whatever entity may have issued you a license did so in fulfillment of their duty to protect the public, not for you to add an aura of credibility to misinformation that in no way approaches the standard of care for any or all Covid related issues.

. "I wouldn't want you to be my nurse". Well many of us would not want an un-vaccinated nurse either. Yet here we are. It is not nasty to advocate for safe care for all our patients and the well being of the community at large.

I wouldn't even want to be a patient in a hospital that didn't mandate vaccines.  I sure these anti-vax nurses can find jobs somewhere else that doesn't involve direct patient care.  But I doubt they could even get one in a meat packing plant these days.

You might be out of luck, depending on where you are.

Some hospitals cancel worker vaccine requirements with Biden rule tied up in courts

Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals reverse COVID-19 vaccine mandate

Prisma, BON Secours, AnMed no longer require COVID vaccines after blocked mandate

Sioux Falls reverses COVID vaccine mandate for health workers following federal court ruling

Some hospitals are foregoing vaccine mandates to avert staffing shortages

From the American Hospital Association's Blog: Updates on Legal Challenges to CMS and OSHA Vaccine Mandate Rule

Quote

In an unprecedented move, the Supreme Court has set for oral argument on Jan. 7 both (1) the emergency applications to stay the Missouri and Louisiana district court injunctions judicially enjoining the CMS mandate in 25 states and (2) the emergency applications to re-stay the OSHA mandate.

Yes, I know what's going on with the anti group, but in my particular city, the staff is 99% vaxxed - doctors and nurses and we did it awhile ago.  It will be interesting to see if the SCOTUS decision makes any difference - probably not.  But here in my mostly blue bubble, people are generally reasonable.  Yes, we have plenty of hillbillies but they don't rule the hospital and the hospital mandated early before the anti's crawled out of the walls.

Subee -

The pandemic sure made me miss the blue bubble I used to work in, where I knew people cared about each other, weren't so prone to conspiracies, and actually studied scientific data. Would still be living there if it wasnt so darn $$$.
