Some California doctors are accused of handing out and/or selling mask exemptions for back-to-school students.

I am listening to the news and we have about 100 new cases among school aged children! No info on if they were wearing masks at school.

Disciplinary action if you don’t practice within their guidelines. Pretty crazy world we live in right now.
Give kids the choice to mask up if they want to. This is truly a slippery slope and we must tread carefully.

So is an infected person with a medical reason to not wear a mask any less dangerous than an infected person who just WON'T wear a mask? Asking for a friend.

A parent sent an unmasked student to the first day of in person school only to notify the school that the student received the results of their pending 72 hour covid test...the results were positive. First day. My grandchild (vaccinated senior) is now in a contact tracing group after a single day in school.
Apparently that's because the schools can tell her what clothes to wear to protect boys from the visuals of her body but they can't tell anyone to wear masks to protect them all from a pandemic.

There is no slippery slope. School dress codes started years ago. Mask up or stay home. Pretty concrete.

What’s next though? Bar codes on arms?
"What's next though" is not a valid argument about THIS intervention.

What's next? Bar codes? are you serious? And I still say, don't want to wear a mask? Stay home. No one is saying you have to have permanent tattoo or something!

Quite notably, there are several districts that have sidestepped prohibitions on mask mandates by simply adding masks to their dress codes. I think it's a fantastic, creative solution.
From the article:
Dennis Eichelbaum, Paris ISD's general counsel, has been advising school boards for over a year to add masks to their dress code, he told CNN. So when Paris ISD asked him whether they could mandate masks, he told them they have "a hundred percent authority over their dress code."
"That's where it actually belongs," he said. "Mandating masks is really no different than mandating shoes or other protective gear that we require."
The measure isn't a "loophole," Eichelbaum says, because the executive order did not suspend the Texas Education Code, which gives the school board authority to govern the schools of the district.
