On the news tonite they were saying that Brittney Spears is due any day and having her baby at Scottsdale North???????

Specializes in ICU, ER, HH, NICU, now FNP.

"I heard..." "I heard..." "I heard..."

I heard the kid has 3 heads and purple ears too

:p

I'm not going to say I'm fan. But I confess to buying all her music because I like good pop music that you can dance to. She's got slick producers that make up for her lack of talent in the voice department.

I shudder to think the judgement I would have received if my every movement from age 16 to 25 was recorded for all to see.

Me too . . .the shuddering I mean.

I'm sure the majority of people on this board have heard of HIPAA - either from experience or from those lousy HCC courses that we need for school. No one should be talking about this - especially on a national web site. Honestly, I thought that this thread would have been closed by the administrators. No offense to the Brittney fans, but give me a break.

I really think that no one that has posted on this board about this is 'in the know'. From what I gathered the thread was started by someone who saw the information on TV. I'd heard a couple of months ago that she was going to deliver here and close the whole floor for her privacy. My biggest beef with this is that Scottsdale is pretty busy to begin with, so are they going to turn away mothers in labor or give them rooms on another floor b/c this girl from LA wants to have her baby here and has enough money to pay for the whole floor? She does deserve to have a happy, healthy baby, having my children were the most joyous events of my life. But what ever happened to seeing a midwife, or going to a birth center if you want that kind of privacy/specialized attention.

I'm not a big fan of hers, I really think she has a sleezy way of portraying herself and unfortunately little girls try to copy her. I don't let my kids watch her videos (that's my choice) but still, they see her during Pepsi commercials etc., you can't really go anywhere w/o seeing her face. Her parents have done a great job of marketing her...

There isn't a person alive who went through puberty and the teen years who would disagree with that statement Tweety. I'd shudder to think what the paparazzi would portray me as to the public eye, or what the public would have thought about me during my golden teen years when I knew EVERYTHING there was to know about LIFE. :rotfl:

I am a fan of hers...not a crazy fan...but I have bought one or two of her CDs, then after I listen to them, I pass them on to my daughters to listen to. I just like the kid. Have no reason not to. :)

Just the alleged fact that she's going to get an entire floor to herself debunks that idea that she's going to be treated just like any other laboring woman. Nor does she expect that, I'm quite sure. If she (and other celebs) wanted to be treated like the rest of us, they wouldn't need that whole floor to themselves.

And there are many celebs, and sadly common folk too, who are having elective c/sections because they do want to labor, they don't want to "get all stretched out", yada, yada, yada.

Violation of HIPPA? Please.....unless someone here was actually her nurse or working on her 'floor' or worked with her or near her in any medical capacity, how is this a HIPPA violation?

Sorry to say, but if you choose the lifestyle she's chosen, being in the spotlight and having the public involved in your life is part of the territory, and yeah it's a pain, but that's the way it is. If she doesn't like it, she doesn't have to be a superstar....

She deserves her privacy and probably thinks that she needs to rent the whole floor to do so.

She's just not your average citizen checking in, she's a major star that's hounded mercilessly by an ever increasingly intrusive paparazzi.

I don't believe the rumor she's having a c-section just to avoid labor pains.

She said it herself in an interview.

Britney is due to give birth in October. But she cannot face the pain of a natural delivery after talking to her mum and is happy to have surgery instead.

She told Elle magazine: "I have a feeling I'm going to have an operation. I don't know why, But I hope so. I don't want to go through the pain."

"My mom said giving birth was the most excruciating thing she's ever gone through in her life. So, if a Caesarean doesn't happen, I'll be like, 'Epidural, please.'"

"Hopefully my athletic abilities will take over. Kevin [Federline] is going to hold my hand."

The chart topper claims she does not know the sex of her new baby... but she says she has a feeling it will be a boy delivered in a Caesarean birth.

Pregnant pop star Britney Spears believes she is destined to give birth by Caesarean section next month.

Spears is set to follow in the footsteps of several celebrity mothers who opt for the birth method over the natural way.

Check thesun.co.uk, they're claiming she has had the baby in an

"emergency" operation.

Two things i thought of when i read the thread title.

1) Here we go again.

2) HIPAA

Edited to add: voting for a close, privacy is an issue.

I heard on the radio a couple days ago that Brittney Spears is having a scheduled c-section rather than a vag birth.
