I think most of what we're doing here is gossiping about what we heard in the press, which is not a HIPPA violation. Maybe a HIPPA violation occurred somewhere along the line, but we're just gossiping.

Gossiping? Nah, not us. steph
I heard on the radio a couple days ago that Brittney Spears is having a scheduled c-section rather than a vag birth.
Interesting. I claimed her producers made good music, not that she had a brain.
Enquiring minds just have to know you know.
Now now . . .I can't really fault her here . .. after 3 vag deliveries w/o an epidural, with my 4th pregnancy I was thinking a cesarean would be a breeze. :-) In fact, I told my ob/gyn that I definitely wanted an epidural this time.
Of course, this is her first pregnancy and she should have to go through the same torture I went through . . . ;-)
steph (It really stinks that my smilies don't work)
I would never buy an Enquirer or Star . .. . . however my grandma did and I LOVED READING THEM AT HER HOUSE.
I could justify it somehow. ;-) Mind candy . .

I'm not saying that HIPAA was violated, however, what is the difference between gossiping about Britney Spears' possible situation, and gossiping about someone else's? Celebrity? Still not right to do so.

HIPPAA and gossip are two seperate things. Anybody can talk about anybody else they want as long as they are not a health worker working in a facility where that anybody happens to be a patient.
If you have no firsthand knowlledge, there is no HIPPAA to violate!
Did you hear the kid will be born wearing $1000.00 leather motorcycle boots? She had them implanted.
O.K., so you don't gossip, even about celebrities. I understand then what you're saying. Sorry.
Celebrities put themselves out there to be gossiped about, to have their picture taken, they have publicists and spokespeople. So I don't think reading and talking about them is wrong, so I disagree with you there.
I do agree, though when she asks for privacy and goes into the hospital or wants to keep her baby out of the limelight, we need to respect that. But if she's telling the press she's thinking c-section or whatever she's telling the press, then it's public domain. :)
I do feel a bit sorry for her sometimes. I saw a snippet of her on a program about the aggressiveness of the paparazzi and she couldn't enjoy a day at the beach because a guy was harrasing her trying to get her angry so he could take a picture of her. That wasn't right.

You'd think that if she had a c-section, then she'd have to deal with a scar. I always thought recovery from a c-section was much longer than a vag birth. I don't know where her information is coming from but I'd never opt for the c-section thinking I'd be escaping pain....
Celebrity is one thing, the baby is another. The baby didn't ask for this crap.

I am not a fan BUT I wish her the best of luck and a smooth and fast delivery wherever it maybe. I am sure she will be a great caretaker as well as her family.
