QuoteThe abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood. I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

Many think that Pride has become too corporate and view it as a good thing. I remember one year my friend saying all the floats were some sort of business promoting something (an exaggeration but mostly true). Also some companies that promote pride also donate to conservative candidates with anti-LGBT agendas (Delta Airlines being on that was called out).
There is a history in this area. When I first moved here the only Pride was in Tampa in June and for reasons I don't quite know or care it splintered and Saint Pete Pride became one of the largest Pride events in the Southeast and I think Tampa's events moved across the bay and stopped having two events for 14 years. Eventually in the cooler months of March Tampa started up again in 2015. It apparently draws 60,000 or so people a relatively decent crowd, but St. Pete is still drawing over 250,000 people and seems to have a better footing in the community and hopefully financially. I like many others go to that one and not the one in Tampa. But every year people whine about the Florida heat in July and like March better. Yes,
Ybor is a party area and Pride for many is Party Time. When I moved here in the 90's it was the place where all the good gay clubs were.
It looks like a different organization is going to give it a go.

I wish them well. When it moved to St. Pete with great success I didn't see the point in having one in Tampa, but a lot of Pride in hot climates complain about the traditional June time so some places have it in cooler months. It's the one complaint I hear over and over is that it's too hot and a lot of people don't go, or a lot of people go and complain about the heat.
Hopefully it's a bump in the road and they can find their footing again. I know these things have a lot of infighting and controversy, including the one here.
I don't think that states "counting" on wind energy is a true statement because they aren't dependent upon it but some states were hoping to augment their current needs with wind. "Planning" on it might be a better semantic.
Of course mostly coastal states planning on this energy are Dem run like Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Virginia.
QuoteISO New England, the regional grid operator, has said it is counting onVineyard Wind's power this Winter. It previously expressed concerns when Interior halted Revolution Wind in August, saying the stoppage raised reliability risks to New England.

A jazz artist cancelled his Christmas Eve concert after Trump stuck his name on the Kennedy Center. Now he's being sued for a million dollars. I don't think this is going to entice many performers to appear.
On. Slightly related note, Trump is posing on Social media his choices of marble armrests on the seats at the Kennedy Center. That sounds so uncomfortable!

I wouldn't be surprised if Trump has marble armrests on all of his golden toilets. Maybe that's why his hand is constantly bruised. IMHO, no one performs at the Kennedy Center anymore except aging stars and country music has beens.

It was a free concert so I'm not seeing where they took a million dollar hit. But they are highlighting and giving publicity that attendance is down and certain artists aren't booking there.
I wish I could say the name change didn't bother me and there are bigger fish to fry but I have Trump Derangement Syndrome and even though it was the board that made the name change is makes me nauseous.
A twenty-something year old in a hoodie with a phone investigating the fraud in Minnesota, and showing how out in the open it is.
Tim Walz is in deflection mode. First taking credit for on-time flight performance at MSP airport (huh?..LOL), and today going to the ole lib favorite race card.

Totally uninteresting to me but now do Trump and Republicans.

And apparently this fraud goes back many years. Of course all the Dems are denying it even though it happened right under the noses which begs the question...corrupt or incompetent at their jobs (or both)? Or as one stated they were afraid to say anything bc someone would call them racist. Meanwhile billions gone to who knows where!
And someone can't even spell "learning" on the outdoor sign and nobody notices, pathetic!!

Maybe that is because it is not your tax dollars in question. Although it should concern anyone hearing that the money was not going for its intended purpose (ie poor people/kids/people with disabilities).
Well who knows maybe it is coming to a Country near you, then you might be interested.

I'm amused that you think wind power is going to replace one "dangerous" offshore oil rig or a ugly, smelly petroleum patch.
While you say our President is stupid, I bet even he knows that wind power is used to produce electricity, and petroleum is not.
