Quote

The abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.

The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood.  I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

Not at all, not even a little bit!!

You get the respect you give.

It wasn't until Christians invaded Europe that the birthdate of Jesus was declared to be December 25. Before that, the accepted date was January 6. The date was moved in order to co-opt the pagan European mid-Winter celebration known as Yule. Your victim card is a forgery.

Yep - He was the Corn King, consort of the Great Mother, before He was Jesus - reborn every year to renew the abundance of the earth.

Surely you jest.

Jesus, as far we we Jews know, led a political revolution that bettered the world.  That's why we all him #1Jew.

Ah yes, do what you are told and behave and you will get your reward after you are dead.

Great way to keep the masses under your control.

Sorry moderators, I will not be doing any more of this (unless it gets really, really stupid) as you are well aware of my history with religious (I'll keep it mild) "stuff" on this site.

Jesus did not come to lead a political revolution.

"One of the clearest aspects of Jesus' ministry was His deliberate non-alignment with political powers. Throughout the Gospels, Jesus refrained from endorsing any political faction, including the Pharisees, Sadducees, or Roman authorities.

Key Verse: "My kingdom is not of this world.” — John 18:36"

https://inspiringalways.com/jesus-and-politics-how-did-jesus-address-political-matters-in-the-bible/

"When questioned about His authority, Jesus consistently pointed to a higher calling—His divine mission from Heaven. This reflects a spiritual authority above earthly politics, emphasizing that His mission transcended the political power structures of His time"

Jesus had good reason to remain apart from politics. The message He preached was about government, but a government He would bring to the earth, not one that would come about through human effort. Jesus' message was about the government of God that will rule the world and that will bring about world peace!

On one occasion, a crowd of followers was so impressed with Jesus' miraculous ability to feed a large crowd, including 5,000 men, with five loaves of bread and two fish that they attempted to take Him by force and make Him their king! However, Jesus escaped their intentions and departed to a mountain alone (John 6:5-15).

Obviously, He would have had support if He had wanted to overthrow the existing powers. But it is clear that Jesus did not wish to become involved in the politics of the society around Him. Instead of revolution or revolt, Jesus taught peace and nonviolence"

Jesus came into this world to bring light and life. Jesus' mission was fulfillment of prophecy, salvation and redemption, revealing the Father, establishing the Kingdom, atonement for sin, and to bring peace.

The administration is blocking offshore wind turbines under construction, for vague reasons about national security. Many of the states where these projects are located were counting on this energy.

This is going to involve yet more lawsuits and a waste of tax payer dollars. All because President Stupid Head couldn't get turbines banned near a golf course in Scotland.

I can think of a few legit criticisms of the administration for this move, but the states "counting on this energy" isn't one.

Yes! He was really angry that then Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond refused to stop windfarms off Scottish land. He became what he always is/was, a spoiled little boy who goes on a strop if he doesn't get his own way and tries to bully people. Just for information; Scotland is now a net exporter of power.

I won't give references because some of you will say they are biased, but just do a simple Google/DuckDuckGo search for "Alex Salmond and Trump windfarms".

A Happy Christmas to all who read this.

I also would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!!

"The true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of Jesus Christ's birth, God's ultimate gift of love and salvation for humanity. More than lights, gifts, or parties, it reminds us that God came down to Earth to dwell among us (John 1:14).

This day marks the arrival of the Messiah, bringing hope, peace, and joy to a world in need. Celebrating Christmas is a way to honor God's plan and share His love with others"

"The meaning of Christmas in the Bible centers on salvation and God's faithfulness:

Isaiah 9:6: "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given... and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Matthew 1:21: "She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

These verses highlight that Christmas is about God's plan of redemption and the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.”

I don't even know what this means.  People are out of work.  Why is it that European countries on the shorlines are allowed (and want wind energy as one option) allowed to depend on wind power to relieve their grid and we aren't?  I'll await SCOTUS on this one.  I don't believe that stopping wind power makes any sense when you compare it to the danger of offshore oil drills.  We have multiple windfarms in Michigan and IMHO, they are must more attractive than the petroleum patch in Texas.  It's ugly and it smells bad.  Texas, BTW, is the largest comsumer for solar power panels because they aren't as stupid as our President.  Trump made windpower more expensive when he placed tariffs on steel and aluminum.
