SBE - well, it would be them, you or nobody. Take your pick. Your choice.

I would choose to have only vaccinated people caring for my  loved ones and myself. (If I had such a choice)

I picked.

It’s all well and good until someone ends up in litigation.

There will be a patient, probably someone home bound, and the only person who visits them will be the unvaccinated nurse, then they will catch covid, and then they will pass.

And all the family members who never bothered to visit or pick up the phone will suddenly be very sad that uncle joe died, and then they will sue, and then they will settle. And the company pulling this charade will be paying for it.

Maybe it’s just me, but given the choice I would rather go to a clinic or hospital that employed only vaccinated staff.

Well, some people probably won't question that.

I think most presume that their health professionals have taken common sense precautions to prevent spread of vaccine preventable diseases.

That's why they're doing mandates across the board rather than making vaccination individualized.  Not because it's the best approach but to minimize the potential for such a frivolous lawsuit. It's nearly impossible to confirm where uncle Joe could have got it,  vaccinated people can spread it, but since this so mainstream someone just might get a settlement based on that very argument.

But as we see here, they presume too much.

Specializes in Primary Care, Military.

LOL. Odd. I've actually been ruminating over adding a line to my resume that states: "Fully vaccinated, including COVID." I'd have to update my Anthrax and Smallpox to list those, though. Wonder if that Typhoid shot is still good. . . ?

Specializes in Flight/ICU-CCU/ER/Paramedic.

I’ll just leave this here.

Forced drugs don't have to always be the solution.

I've been arguing communication and information would be more helpful than disdain and force for the unvaccinated.

Don't take that to mean I'm "antivaxxer"

The biggest issue is using not requiring vaccination as a selling point.

I see. Force is the only way in your opinion, because as a society we are too weak to figure out how to convince people to do it voluntarily.

I say screw it. Let specific clinics and hospitals cater to the anti-vaxx, pseudo-science crowd and let's study it. Let them open Ivermectin/Hydroxychloroquine clinics, where none of the staff are vaxxed and the docs and can give any drug they feel like regardless of any studies or evidence. We're already in an "us vs them" situation so let's just go with it. Have unvaxxed hospitals where none of the staff are vaxxed and only unvaxxed patients are allowed to go. Let's see what happens.

You mean like in Florida, Texas, Louisiana etc ????
