The News earlier tonight shared that Hope Hicks became ill Wednesday night, and tested today and COVID-19 positive --per President Trump's confirmed tweet tonight. A few hours later, he confirmed the First Lady and he tested positive and are now in quarantine.

????
Seriously, some of the man's supporters are the gift that keeps on giving. Comedy gold.

Hand hygiene and social distancing are more important. A piece of cloth is giving people a false sense of security. If we worked harder to get everyone an N-95, we’d do better. Do you see how I’m not anti-mask, just against worthless pieces of cloth?
Bit good job on putting all the clapping in between words there.
And you continue to downplay the importance of universal masking during a pandemic when that (with distance and hygiene) is the only strategy available to the everyday person. Why is that?
How does what you are saying help, in any way, to decrease the spread of this virus?
No, I see a health professional making statements which fly fully in the face of the current public health recommendations while thousands of your fellow Americans suffer every day because of similar thinking from the IMPOTUS, who will be fortunate if he survives his infection.
While I agree wearing a cloth mask is by no means 100% effective at preventing viral spread it is certainly better than nothing.
Sure an N-95 is of course more effective than a cloth mask, but how many in the general public can get their hands on a regular supply much less know how to wear them properly? Health care workers go through a fit test before being issued an N-95 and not everybody passes it.
Like it or not high ranking political figures are somewhat influential and the choices they make are often mirrored by their supporters. Then when enough people refuse to wear a mask in public, more people that might otherwise have been perfectly compliant also stop wearing the mask. Herd mentality at it's worst!
As an example of this I live in WI where bars are open. I stopped in one briefly with a friend last week. This was at 4:00 pm, not that the time matters but my goodness the place was packed! Absolutely zero attempt at any kind of social distancing and not a mask in sight. We walked in and immediately turned around and walked back out.
Different setting than the white house gatherings of course but no less jarring for the complete disregard of following any kind of recommendations meant to decrease transmission of this virus.

Would you be so kind as to provide a source(s) for this?

Why did they have to shake hands and even hug? Standing on the lawn, huddled in groups, like we did at the carefree cocktail parties of yesteryears? To me that’s sheer stupidity considering the current situation. To me it seems that they collectively failed to take even the most basic precautions. I don’t know if they did it for political reasons, trying to signal that the pandemic is all but over, or if they really are just clueless about basic mitigation strategies? The latter somewhat strains credulity though.
No masks, no social distancing . . . just sharing the virus. It did look deliberate.
Do people actually think that one negative test PROVES that you are absolutely free of the virus? Even when we have so many documented false negatives?

Totally share your concerns. The disregard for basic infection control strategies which THEIR OWN EXPERTS formulated as necessary for pandemic control is what has prolonged COVID-19 spread in the US. The do-as-I-say, not do-as-I-do doesn't work leading the US 10/4/20 to have 7.3 million cases COVID -19 citizens along with almost 210,000 deaths -leading the world. It could have been different if modeling best practice occurred.
Hope to see a change in Presidential habit post hospital discharge. Graphic Dr. Tom Frieden (former CDC Director) posted easily explains mask wearing and could be shared with the country.
Today's update by Dr. Conley re President Trump's health
1. Presidents doctor confirmed oxygen sats dropped Friday morning while at WH and given 2L O2 portable tank which Trump used briefly, Sats improved and he declined to use.. Current pulse ox remains >95%. Up and around presidential sweet on his own.
2. John Hopkins doctor stated given Dexamethasone. Overall doing well, may be discharged as early as Monday to continue treatment at the White House.

While I agree with your assessment of Mr. Gutfeld and think suggesting that Mr. Trump "…didn't hide from the virus. …” and that "He was going to walk out there on that battlefield with you …” is quite ridiculous, it doesn’t answer the question I asked.
Again, where are the sources that Mr. Trump “…courageously allowed himself to become infected in order to set an example of perseverance in the face of adversity. …”

Are you seeking those exact words in a statement or musing, rather than the overall sentiment?

Again the smiling doctor made conflicting statements which create confusion and reflect his dishonesty.
From NIH:
Recommendations for Patients with COVID-19
On the basis of the preliminary report from the RECOVERY trial, the COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines Panel (the Panel) recommends using dexamethasone 6 mg per day for up to 10 days or until hospital discharge, whichever comes first, for the treatment of COVID-19 in hospitalized patients who are mechanically ventilated (AI) and in hospitalized patients who require supplemental oxygen but who are not mechanically ventilated (BI).
The Panel recommends against using dexamethasone for the treatment of COVID-19 in patients who do not require supplemental oxygen (AI).
Is Trump well enough to go home or sick enough to get steroids?
What is the truth?
