President Biden thread

Published

Wow.  No one has started such a thread yet?

After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days,  apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.

Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week,  by the end of April.

Do you mean buddy up with the Taliban, and leave "brown" women and children at the hands of child raping gay bashing maniacs?

Yup, he followed along with the former guy's plan, except instead of happening in May, it was extended out to the end of August. Too bad the State department was so depleted that more visas couldn't be processed, thanks to Tillerson and Pompeo.

Yeah. Too bad he didn't listen to his military advisors and then lie about it later. He did his pert tho getting those terrorist. Except it was a civilian family that he drone strike. It was really smart to abandon Bagran air port just like Trump said to do! Pretty sure Trump also advised to leave billions of dollars of US military equipment behind for the Taliban.

Now if Afghanistan happened this way under Trump, what would your opinion be then?

Let's go Brandon!!

And suddenly my memories fail me about all of the previous support you had for trump and the GOP?

I skim huffpost for headlines but occasionally they have some good news. This is what I mean about the GOP and the people they tolerate.

All you know about me is that I believe Trump did some good things for our country and that I believe Biden is a terrible president.

You would be hard pressed to find anything complimentary I have to say about elected officials in the Republican party.  That they are a much lessor evil than their Democrat peers is the best thing I can say for them.

And, from that you have judged me to be a misogynist, racist, and other things.

I'm not sure how Trump could have made it worst (as if these things followed some kind of dance card), but I am sure he would have monitized it for himself and his friends.

Watch CNN's Baltimore Town Hall Thursday 10/21/21 @ 8PM ET with President Biden and Anderson Cooper as audience members pepper him with questions about his administrations handling current issues +  he will continue to sell his ambitious  Build Back Better legislative agenda to members of Congress and the nation.

Judge for yourself his mental accuity and soundness of proposed legislation.

Today he is meeting with Sen. Sinema,  progressives and moderates to help broker his current agendas legislation so it can be passed by end of year.

Trump intended to host the Taliban at Camp David on 91120. That would have been worse.  Trump is not a man of his word, his previous behavior suggests that he wouldn't have honored any agreement made with the terrorists.

It did happen under Trump, you might research the aspects of the Afghan withdrawal that were already complete before Biden took office.

You've raised all those points already and we've discussed them but feel free to harp on them more.

If the withdrawal was a mess under Trump, which as is pointed out he started it, I would feel the same.  It was disastrous but I'm glad we're out in the end.

"Let's Go Brandon" for others in the group that might not know stands are "F*** Joe Biden".  It's actually been made into a rap song that's #1 on iTunes.  Interesting times.

Thanks for that explanation.  I searched for that reference immediately and decided that it reflected the echo chamber of animus that infects right wing political infotainment in the era of Trump.

I think you think that we all suffer from the same affliction that affects republicans. We don't live minute to minute in a fugue state where prior actions cease to exist. We know that previous behaviors is a good indicator of what future behaviors might be like.

Therefore, we remember the people who said what and when!

We don't go about constantly committing crimes, knowing that we can run back to a community of criminals, who will forget and forgive, because they themselves want the same reaction, when they inevitably commit their crimes!

I could easily pick out at least forty percent of the current GOP who are habitual criminals who have in some way contravened our current laws and was charged or investigated or under investigation or been scrutinized by some legal body for infractions!

The people who support them also condone misogyny, pedophiles, thieves, racism and any number of white collar crimes and are almost always on the take from someone or something!

And there's the rub!

Too lazy or simply don't care about your choices to remember or about the consequences of picking the wrong people!
