Just think it this way NCLEX wants to make sure that we are going to be SAFE nurses. That's What I felt about the whole exam.

1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX? 1st time: 180, 2nd time: 84, and 3rd time: 265 (still waiting for an answer)

2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course? Took Kaplan the first time and HATED it, took nothing the 2nd time (regarding review course), and took Hurst Review the 3rd time (LOVED it). As far as materials I mainly used the Saunders book and online CDs.

3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)? No

4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? The first two times I think it only took a littl bit, maybe like two weeks, but I checked online and assumed that since my name didn't appear within one week I failed. This 3rd time I'm still waiting for an answer. I took the NCLEX on June 18th.

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? Thought that I had DEFIANTLY failed the first time, the 2nd time I was just ready to get it over with and didn't really have any feelings towards it. This third time I actually had a 50/50 feeling. There was stuff I KNEW and stuff I guessed on, but of course there is always that feeling of doubt in the back of your mind.

6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX? Nope, the 3rd and hopefully the LAST!

1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX? 75

2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course?

Kaplan, NCSBN review (leaningext.com), Saunders, Hurst, Mosby and a little of the NCLEX 3500 cd - everything I could get my hands on!

3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)? ATI, but that was mostly to test out of the program - we did not have to make a certain score, but it was more for the school's review to see how we did.

4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? Took it 7/7 in California and found out today that I passed.

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test. When I left I was numb. The first 2 questions were relatively easy and then the test went in some strange direction for the next 68 questions. I thought it was very hard and then towards question 70 it got easier again. I didn't know what was going on. When it shut off at 75 I felt that I didn't prove anything to the state. The day after the test, I became very anxious and obsessive, and didn't feel very good about it. I cried off and on and couldn't focus on anything. It took me 5 days to find out.

6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX? Yes.

HI!!

I took the NCLEX today. I has 75 questions. This was my first attempt (hopefully my only attempt!) I used "Kaplan Complete". I thought I knew a few questions, but I only seem to remember the ones I didn't know!!! Anticipation of results is probably worse than anticipation of taking it!!! Grrrrrrrr....... I can't get the results fast enough! Good luck to all and congrats to all who have passed!!! :balloons:
