  1. They will probably ask about pt identifiers before med admin. They'll want to know in what ways your unit is taking measures to ensure pt safety. They're going to look for things like uncovered drinks, food in the work area, hippa violations, etc. Those are a few. Never say I don't know when you can't answer a question, tell them "Let me find that out for you", then go find out the answer, quickly! They're there to help, so don't freak out when they show up. Good Luck!
  2. Just wanted to thank everyone for responding. I have an interview on Mon. for a medsurg floor. I guess I've decided to get a little (or a hell of alot ) more experience before diving into the world of psychiatric nursing. Frank
  3. 1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX? 75 2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course? Hesi, Kaplan (the best imho), lippincott, Nclex made incredibly easy (AVOID THIS ONE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!) 3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)? HESI 4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? 5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? I was certain I had failed. 6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX? YES
  4. Hey everyone, Is it possible to go directly into psych nursing without previous nursing experience? My license just arrived today and now I need to find a job. Psych was my absolute favorite rotation. Thanks, Frank
  5. I took it last Friday and thought I had failed it for sure. I ended up with a 916, not the best score, but not failing. Just relax and take some deep breaths! In the end you will see what a great tool it is in that it identifies areas where you may need some polishing up. I hope you do well!
