Failed NCLEX- Very Sad Need help
hey there! i know exactly how you feel.. i graduated in december 2003 and i'm still not an rn. i have taken the nclex three times all ready. i'm currently going to start preparing for try #4. you just need to keep your head up and know that there is a reason for everything. stay positive. you were meant to go to nursing school for a reason, it's not just for nothing. you will pass the nclex when it's your time. i have to keep this positive attitude because if i don't i wouldn't be able to keep taking this damn thing. i know it costs a ton of money to keep taking it, but everyone out there i want us to unite and know we will all pass. i know it. i'm just hoping it's the next time we all take it. i'm also sorry you had such a bad experience with this last time you took it. that isn't really the way you should start your exam. i think the whole process is a tad unnerving myself. i mean it's a dull boring room, everyone is so quite and still, then they finer print you, call you in one by one to sit you in a tiny area and then they tell you that your being videotaped and recorded. i mean is that supposed to make us calm? i don't think so. anyway you hang in there. our time will come and i can't wait to celebrate it all with you! brandi :)

NCLEX Registration question
Hi there! If you plan on taking your NCLEX BEFORE moving then just apply to take it for that state. You don't have to live in Colorado to take it there. I live in California and I can take it for any state I want. When you register online and make your appointment for the NCLEX just specify the state license you wish to test for regardless of where your testing. Best of luck! Brandi

I'm so ANGRY!!!
Kevin - Not sure if you ever got your answer to the number of times one can take the NCLEX in your state of NY, but NY has no limit to the number of times you can take it. Here is the link to that information: http://www.virtualnursinghome.com/licensure.htm Brandi

NCLEX results in California
Hi there! Usually you can check online at www.rn.ca.gov within 3-4 days of taking the exam. If you see your name then you passed and it will have your license number next to your name and the date they issued it, BUT and this is a big BUT I have had friends who received their license in the mail 3 weeks after they took their test and their name didn't show up online until a MONTH after they took it, weird I know, but true. So basically don't get too freaked out if your name doesn't appear online in a few days. You'll defiantly have your results in the mail in 4 weeks!

Taking Nclex December 2005
I agree with LavaNurse! The Saunders review books are WAY easier than the NCLEX. I did everything with that damn book and CD. I read ALL the rationales (right and wrong) and even looked up things I didn't understand and when I was done with the ENTIRE book (let's say there is 1200 questions in the whole book) I had only gotten like 250 wrong, which means I got WAY more right. I took the NCLEX a failed. I thought I understood and had my stuff down, but apparently I was wrong. It's luck if you ask me, but like LavaNurse said "Different strokes for different folks. I feel as long as you do about 100 questions a day, you'll be fine." Best of luck and keep us posted!

Saunder's is good, but as long as you dedicate yourself to studying and use the materials you have to work with you'll do great!

Does Nursing School Prepare you?
Nursing school prepared me more than enough to work in a hospital and excel, but as for the NCELX, not really! School tests are NOTHING like the NCLEX.
