Where to start
Hello all, I am sure this is not the very new question. I am in my final year of MSN-NP (Adult Health) I teach part time iand I work at mid-management level in a small hospital. No more bedside since 6 months. Recently my role is becoming intense with Research and Data Management. While I consider it as a good progress,it is not what I will be doing as a NP. I am thinking may be I will opt for a role transition in the same hospital as I have earned a very good reputation and position. I am still confused about how and where to kick off as NP? In employee health? or ER?

Really need information about RN
My friend, first of all. No doctor yells at nurse.(There is professionalism and code of conduct in every organization.) I am sure you are looking around for second career. Do not enter in a profession unless you know what exactly you are getting into. My advise - go to your local hospital and request if you can volunteer on a floor as a help person and observe a nurse in action in various departments for at least 1 week. Think about this time as your investment time and make your decision. There is nothing like practical experience. Good Luck.

Trinitas Nursing student anyone here? From Piscataway
I'm a graduate from Trinitas. The course has been designed in order to make a nurse who can take total responsibility as soon as they pass the course. You will see when you will take the boards. It seems like a cake walk after you graduate. Everyone had to go through the same, even 5-6 semesters back. So hang in there,do what is within your capacity and you will be able to make it. Just relax.

How many of you practice homeopathy?
When I practiced Homeopathy back in my country only thing they asked was "Can you heal this complaint?" I tried my best to help. And Homeopathy did help them. Here the world is different. Now many a times I have to question myself how I am going to explain that this is not a placebo therapy. How can one see beyond the actual material substance. The principle of Dynamic healing is nonpalatable here. I may have to ask each of them to read 'Organon of Medicine " by Samuel Hahnemann(Founder of Homeopathy) which explains in detail how it works. The only reason to start this thread is to see how many of us know what Homepathy actually is.How can we practice it legally? How can we give our clients an opportunity to choose alternative therapy when they are told that "THERE IS NO KNOWN CURE FOR THE CONDITION" I respect all alternative treatment as far as it does NO HARM. The healers high and only mission is to cure the sick.

Homeopathy
The best thing for you to do is get certified by AHNA as a holistic nurse practioner.http://www.AHNA.org I am a Homeopath from India.Practiced for 10 years in India and even taught as a lecturer for 2 years there. When I came to this country I practiced with an MD but soon realized that it is illegal to even prescribe without appropriate licence. Here many RN were practicing and prescribing Homeopathy ,hence I thought of pursuing RN.I have recently passed NCLEX after completing the state approved nursing course. I am looking forward to establish my practice as an independent holistic practioner.I also have plans in future to set up training for those who are interested in Homeopathy. I wish you good luck

Poll for those who have already taken NCLEX..
1.75 Questions 2.Went over my notes from school and Saunders CD with new format. 3.I scored highest in my School ATI testing 4.Iwas ready to take NCLEX as soon as I graduated.I had to simply wait for 3 weeks as my ATT number did not arrive.Out of frustration I kept calling (Called for 5 hours straight till I got someone live on line).Got my ATT number within 48 hours took test in a week after that. 5.Came out of test feeling relived, good and relaxed. 6.It was my first attempt. And yes I passed and have my letter with Licence number within 10 days of NCLEX.I will get my actual licence soon. :) To those who are still waiting. Good luck. Just think it this way NCLEX wants to make sure that we are going to be SAFE nurses. That's What I felt about the whole exam.

I gave my boards on 6/18 ans received the letter today 6/28 so you will get in within 4 days.(Counting 10 days period) You can use that letter to apply to any hospital till your licence arrives. Have patience. You know you have passed so have some fun and relax. I did the same ..enjoyed time with my kids.Once you will start working it's getting into routine. We all will be like Hamsters .. :rotfl:

What shifts are nurses working?
I'm will be starting with 7pm -7am..So let me understand,I work 2 days one week and 3 days one week??????????I was told I will have to work 3 days every week and may be on weekends? i'm terrorized with the thought of working at night as i'm not a night person but with 2 schoolgoing kids that's my best option now. I don't think I'm ready.I can use some moral support. :)

Trinitas-Registration only by invitition.
About your A&P book,I don't think there is anything like UCC cutomized book. The content is same .If you need some clarification just go to Biology dept and talk to Prof.Dunscomb.He is wonderful and he may even look at the book which you have and OK it. If you really need to know about Nursing course then you must come to Union county Elizabeth Campus and talk to Senior Nursing students.Everyone at Trinitas are more than willing to share the information. Good luck
