How many of you dont get paid for your lunch hour? Just started a new job in a group home and was wondering if this was the norm. Instead of getting paid for 40 hrs I only get paid for 35----Thanks in advance

Pretty standard where I've worked. If I were you I'd make dang sure I took those five hours of breaks and not work during them.....

Have almost never been paid for lunch. A lot of places run the shift 81/2 hrs so that you get 1/2 hr lunch and still get 40 hrs.

Have never worked one place where there was a paid lunch. There are paid breaks of 15 minutes that are required for every four hours of work, but lunch has never been a paid item.

We work 8.5 and 12.5 days and get paid for only 8 and 12. If we don't get a lunch break, we can fill out a form so we will get paid.

What is this "lunch" you speak of?
Quite simply, that is a period of time---oh usually 5-15 minutes(when it's supposed to be 30) when you attempt to place something edible into your mouth, while seated(preferrably) while multiple interruptions occur!

At my job we swipe missed meal on the time lock and we get paid for the time because a 1/2 hour is automatically taken out daily
