I don't see it as irrelevant. The single payer system will not work because we can't afford it. I guess you socialists can't add and subtract, but the fact of the matter is that the money is not/will not be there. The current administration is planning on taxing those still working even more than they are being taxed at present to pay for this ill-conceived entitlement program. I was merely explaining to RN4MERCY that these idiotic programs are already in place in Europe. They don't work there and they won't work here. BTW, millions left Europe and came to the US so that they could be free to work/live in a free market capitalist system, where self reliance is valued above all else and hard work is rewarded by success. The government should not be selecting winners and losers. Another large and unfunded government bureaucracy will be disastrous for this country. But as your administration says, "never waste a crisis".

None of those sources have any credibility with a large number of Americans. You can surf the net to find support for ANY position, then link it. So what. Ask a student from on of the best-funded schools who the speaker of the house is. Ask them to find South Carolina on a map. Public education in affluent communities means nothing more than better paid teachers.

The magnet facility in our system is bleeding red ink, and the system administration is desperately carving up other facilities to keep it's "magnet" afloat. Everyone sees it as a meaningless designation, more a marketing tool than anything else.

You might be surprised at the number of RNs (3 in my house, most at my hospital) that don't support any of this stuff. That is pretty much a reflection of the public at large.

The federal government has pretty much wrecked public education. Let's give them a shot at wrecking healthcare.

AGH isn't hiring until they relocate about 100 nurses displaced by the move of the OB/GYN and Psych units to other hospitals in the WPAHS system. My son was recently an inpatient at Children's. A beautiful facility to be sure, but the staff we had contact with seemed uniformly miserable. They knew that my wife and I were RNs, and they vented about everything from pay to parking.
