Hazard Pay

Are there any other hospitals out there that are not paying hazard pay? Or is it just the hospital I work at ??

Pediatric hospital here, only hazard pay currently on our one official covid special isolation unit. Even though those covid + patients usually start off on another floor.

Nope. Nothing extra.

At mine only the ER gets 5% and those on the behavior response team. No differential for covid

There's no hazard pay at my hospital.

Working on a covid unit.... no hazard pay/nothing extra for us either.

Well, this week we got a free headband as a thank you from the CNO. ?

We also learned that from the money loss during the covid response merit raises are essentially non exisitant this year. ?

Yeah, they tried that where I work but the union wasn’t having it.

No hazard pay at my place either... ?

No actual hazzard pay, but there is critical staffing for ECMO trained nurses when staffing gets tight. Extra $16 per hour.

I received random hazard pay when I was on my COVID unit. 6 hours here, 3 hours there ... when I asked my NM, she said that it was management’s way of “trying.”

Uh, OK?

Rumor has it that we’ll be getting it next week. That’s been the rumor since late March (next week). Just like ‘tomorrow’, next week never comes.

We got "retention pay" but not hazard pay. Not yet at least. The union is working on it.
