i am 28, but i eventually want to earn my master's, so my college journey is far from over.
not everyone wants a family at 25, plenty of families start at 30-35-40. i am 28 and i never want kids, at all, no changing my mind, so 'family' does not matter in my decisions.
my husband owns a business and i have been a cns for 10 years, so we are definitely not struggling for money.
it all depends on your unique situation. i love college, and will likely continue to persue education throughout my nursing career.
i hope to never be done learning :)

If I was your mom I'd tell you to go to school while you're young, then get married and have babies.
I didn't do it that way, I was a single parent at 20 and never really had the opportunity to go to school until my kids were grown.
So for me...I'll graduate RN right before my 50th birthday :) I hope to have my BSN by 52 and then I'm sure I'll be going for a masters.

I'll graduate around my 28th birthday.
I'm going to school a bit later than most of my peers, but that's because I did things like join the Army and spent time working and having fun. I wouldn't trade it for the world and think that anyone who puts an age limit on things is pretty young.

I am not talking down on anyone going to school in their 30s or 40s or 50s orrr 60s, i think that is great! All i am saying is, I think i'd honestly be better to get done at a younger age so you can be able to support a family and not struggle with money issues or career choices. And all the baggage that comes along. BUT yes ANY age is great!!! sorry about that.
Everyone's situation will vary. I stayed home with my kids and my husband worked outside of the home. It was important to me to be there with them their first few years, so College wasn't something I had to rush into for the reasons you listed. I also started my family REALLY young, like still in HS young LOL. But there is nothing wrong with getting it down and out of the way right out of HS either. It's just whatever suits someones situation. I wasn't decided in what career I wanted until I got older. A lot of people on these boards nursing is their second degree as well.

Seeing as how I'll be around 55 when I finish this program I'm in now, I could say 55, but really there is no limit or ideal age. You will go through different stages in your life and most likely that will include going back to school for different reasons. There is no one right age or single path for anybody to follow. Perhaps you might like to google "encore career" for some insight as to what folks on the other end of the age spectrum are thinking.

Well, I went to college straight out of high school...so when I get my ASN, I'll be 21 and when I get my BSN I'll be 22. I think that's a great age!
Of course...that's only applicable if you go straight from high school like I did.

Hmmm....well I thought 23 was a great time to be finished when I graduated with my first bachelor's degree, now I'm 30 and I just graduated with a second bachelor's degree, so 30 seems nice.....but there's always master's degrees.....can I just never be done? I actually really like school. Heck, I got married and had a child during my BSN program, there's just no scaring me away.

Well, Im 22 and just finished up my first bachelors. But in the fall I will start a nursing program, so I will be 24 when Im done with the nursing program. But I also want a Masters degree in nursing, so for me the age to be done with school is before age 30 (hopefully I'll have my MSN by the time Im 29). But this is just pertaining to myself.
I actually turned down a couple nursing programs I was accepted to because their programs were 3 years long and I didnt want to be 25 when I got my degree...that wouldve thrown off my whole plan of having my MSN by age 30!
A lot of people thought I was crazy, but I cant help but feel like Im starting to get old, lol...
But of course, it varies for everyone...

This is the ONLY correct answer here. I see the advantages to younger and older but in the end this is the only thing that matters. What age do you want to be?
