i'd say about 22-24 years old.... what r your thoughts?
3 years apart is a great space I think. My 3rd I had 1 month shy of my second son being 2 and I don't think he was ready for a sibling at all, it was very hard. My oldest was 3.5 when my second one was born and he transitioned great and was such a help.
I agree with the 3 year age gap, even more IMO is better. My kids are 3 years apart...almost to the day (Jan 13th and 18th). I know so many moms (my sister too) that had less then 2 year gap and they have such a hard time. I know some kids are fine adding a sibling at that age but from what I've seen, I wouldn't want kids that close, lol.
Sorry but I have to laugh, lol. I think it's so funny that you have it planned out perfectly. I hope it happens for you like that. But some people (myself included) have fertility problems and unfortunately takes years to get pregnant. I just hope you don't have such problems.
And then you have people like me, who got pregnant immediately when we started trying, even though we didn't expect to! So I worked at my first nursing job...straight out of nursing school...for exactly 9 mos
I think most of why I have it planned out is that I come from a huge family as I said before...so I have a good grip on what it's like to have siblings of all ages and to have parents who are a bit older. I'm 5 1/2 years younger than my oldest brother, and 15 years older than my youngest sisters and my parents are 55 while most of my friend's parents are still in their 40s or early 50s at the oldest.
I hear ya.....I come from a sort of big family too, well kinda. My parents ran a foster home. My parents had 4 kids and we always had 2-3 extra kids all the time and eventually adopted one of them. My mom was in her early 40s when she gave birth to her youngest. I personally think it is better to have kids at least in the 20s due to the chance of being around longer and being healthier however sometimes it doesn't happen like that. I slap myself now but my husband and I started trying when I was 18....yeah I can't believe it, lol. However due to undiagnosed thyroid issue, I didn't get pregnant until I was 23. Had my 2nd when I was 26. I'm now 30 and I'm hoping to pop out another within in the near future. I never imagined having a baby after 30 but it happens. I guess it depends on the person....mentally I feel like I'm 18 so I think I can survive having another one at my "old age"...LOL.

That was me too, I was told after a surgery for female related problems that I had a 1% chance of getting pregnant and I ended up pregnant 4 weeks later :|

It's ok, I tried at 15 and had my son 10 months later :| Mentally I was fine having my daughter at 27 but physically it was much different. I also had a lot of problems though and a high risk pregnancy and that pregnancy did me in leading me to having to have a hysterectomy and other things 7 months later.
Just doing our Maternity and Peds unit has made me really sad that I can't have another one. I will patiently wait for grandchildren that hopefully will be at least 10 years out LOL
I graduate on the 14th at age 27...so I guess that's the perfect age
I'm so glad I didn't rush into college after high school. I would have picked some random career because it sounded good in the college catalogue.
And my two are 16 months apart, and although it was hell initially they are so close and do everything together. I love it and can't imagine how hard it would be to have them further apart and always in different developmental stages.
very true...i mean just coming straight out of high school, how does a young man or woman know what they want to do for the rest of their life at age 19??????? I still have doubts at age 22.
Different life experiences, talking to people, research etc. I knew in my junior year of high school that I wanted to do nursing, and that was only reinforced my senior year.
My kids are about 4 years apart. I have a 12, 8, and soon to be 4. I was pregnant my senior year in high school. Of course at that time I didn't know what I wanted to be besides a good mother and wife. Now that I'm done having kids, I decided I was ready to pursue my career and go to college. My youngest will start kindergarden when I start the ADN nursing program so she will be in school when I'm in school. After I get my ADN in 2013 (age 35), I would eventually continue slowly to get my BSN or MSN. Do not know how long that would take me if I plan on working full time and going to school but I do not think there's a good age to be done with school because everyone's situation and goals are different. I love learning and going to school. That's one of the reason I chose nursing because it is a profession that you continue learning.
