Hi 39 here and just finishing up the last of my pre-req to start nursing program next fall, have anatomy, english, and psychology this semester.

I am 41 and need 4 classes to get all the pre work done to get in. I am trying for the fall of '05 which would make me 43 when I am done. Finishing my RN the same time my daughter finishes 10th grade! The real upside is showing her what good grades are and letting her compete with me. HA

That's probably the best advice I received when I considered going back to school. Time is going to pass anyway...so....might as well do something you really want to do. :)

Hi, I'm 48yrs. & start the RN program in August. I have been the oldest in all of my pre reqs classes. I seem to fit in well as the younger ones seem to flock to me. My daughter has just completed hers she is 31 yrs.( with gpa 4.0!!). I give them advice when asked, and they taught me the ropes of adjusting to college. The avg. age in my cc classes 20's to 30's.I think they look at me as a mom and friend and that's ok by me.CRB613

at 42 years young, I am an old dog learning some new tricks...:coollook:

And like others have mentioned the youngsters:chuckle in the class look up to me for leadership and guidance. Which isn't bad since most of them are of the female persuation.:p

Have a great semester all, dave:)

I am 32 yrs old and will be 33 when my prereqs are complete. I will apply to my BSN program in Dec. of 05. I should've done this 10 yrs ago, but wisdom/maturity are definately a plus! I also have a 12, 6 and two 1 1/2 yr olds, a 12, 10, 9, and 6 yr old step-daughters. I agree with the "never too late" logic. Why spend the next 30-odd yrs doing something you hate? Starting this at my age will also show my kids a wonderful lesson, as well.

Im 42.5 my son is 22 and we're both starting together.

Father and Son in class together, cant wait to emberrass him .

How do you spell ( emberass ) anyway....................

A father-son duo ????!! I'd pay money to be a fly on the wall in your class ...

Good luck to both of you!

And it's spelled "embarass" - you'll need to know. :chuckle

I am also an older student. I am 35. I have about 4 more pre/co-reqs before nursing school. I am

currently on the waiting list at my CC for Spring 05. I am also filling out applications for Fall 05 at my

second, third, and fourth choice schools.

I was really afraid I would be the elder in my classes when I started two years ago. I have since found that I am the norm, except for my Algebra class where I was not only the oldest person, but also the only woman.

That was kind of weird.

I'm 38 and proud to be in this club. I was notified of my acceptance into the ADN program at my school starting Fall '05 on my birthday. What a wonderful gift!

Glad to be among friends....

I'll be 35 (pushing 36) when I graduate with my ADN. I'll probably be nearing 40 by the time I'm finished with everything I want to do in school. :)
