Anyone age 35 and and up and a nursing student? (say hi)

Hi: Is anyone age 35 plus a student besides me? My classmates are all the age of my children. I am 45.

I am 36 and do not be afraid. Just have faith in yourself.:D

Hello,

I am not a nursing student yet but I am 37 years old and I am taking my prerequisites for a BSN program. I stuggle academically ,but I am pressing on. I want to wish everyone in nursing school good luck.

This tickles me--I just turned 50 this summer.

Before I transferred to Excelsior College, I was the eldest in my class and rather liked the idea of holding the record, then learned the "matron" of the class ahead of us was 10 or 11 years past me!

I love school, and love nursing, so this is a great experience for me.

Funny thing--I don't feel I'm different from my classmates. Sometimes this seemed to bug them, and then I would realize, ah! *they* perceive the age difference.....

Hi everyone! :D Nice to hear from everyone again! One semester to wait through before I start next fall!!! Heather

Well, as "mature" students, we bring some unique qualities to our nursing practice. I will start a second degree nursing program in January. It will be interesting to see how many of the students are our age.

Hi, Im 43 and starting my BSN this week, welcome to the college scene

Hi

The other day one of the younger students and I went for dinner and a drink to celebrate the end of the summer session. She got ID'd and I did not. They must have thought I was her mother.

45!!! just finishing the first semester (which we did in just under 8 weeks..)-PHEW!!

I'm 34 (will turn 35 in October) and just finished all my prereqs...will start a BSN program in June of 2005. From what I've seen and read, it seems that 30 is an average age for nursing students.

I am 37 and just started my clinicals for LVN on June 2 this year. I will be done May of 2005. We can all do it, no matter what the program or our ages. After the final yesterday, I became the oldest in the class. Most of the class is early and mid-20's...we all seem too meld together quite well.

Hello all, I am 40 and a just starting my second semester of my junior year in my BSN program. THREE MORE SEMESTERS TO GO!!!! My graduation date is Dec 05. We have the largest college of nursing in Ohio and there are more non-traditional students in the program then traditional college students. It's been lots of work but very doable. Im working as a nurse tech at a local hospital this summer part time and realize that this is probably my last "lazy" summer before I'll be doing my externship next summer and working full time as a nurse from then on. Goodluck to everyone this next school year!!!
