Anyone age 35 and and up and a nursing student? (say hi)

Published

Hi: Is anyone age 35 plus a student besides me? My classmates are all the age of my children. I am 45.

Hi! im 39 and i felt old too. I had alot of younger students going with me to school. But i think the oldest we has was 47 and i thought that was really neat. Believe me it takes guts to go back the older you are. I have all of my prereqs done except Microbiolgy. I hope to be in the nursing program by next fall. Wish me luck!!!

I just turned 38 and I am in my first semester of an ADN program. The majority of my class is younger than me but I fit in well. I don't feel uncomfortable with younger people. It is a great time for me and I can hardly wait to graduate in 2005!!! Hang in there everyone!!

hmmm...I am 36 and will be starting the BSN program in spring 2004. I will be graduating december 2005!

Hello.

I have been an LPN for 19 years. I am currently back in school and will graduate in June 2004 with my assoc. RN. I am 39 years old. I have 5 kids, 4 of which still are at home. Their ages are 21, 18, 10, 8 , & 4. I was working 40 hr a week, but cut down to 24 hr a week. The only way that I am making it through this is that I have the best husband in the world. Although he works 50 plus hours a week, he always finds the time to help with the household and the children. I attend school with all women ranging in ages from 19 to 62. The variety of ages make no difference to any of us. We all pitch in and help each other most of the time. Us older ones, and the ones of us who have been LPNs tend to look out for the ones who could be our childrens age. BUT, I cannot hardly wait until June!!!

I'm 42 and in my first quarter of nursing school there are 32 in my class and only 10 are under the age of 35! there are several in their mid to late 40's too.

I am 39. Most of my classmates are my age or younger (some MUCH younger!).

One of the people who inspired me to go to nursing school is my best friends mother. She was 50 years old when she started school. She is still working as an RN into her 60's. She loves it (and everybody thinks she's fab!)

Hi All,

I'm not part of the club (yet) but I just wanted to say I'm 25 and the youngest of all my fellow classmates. I really enjoy dealing with everyone on a more mature level as I've never had the mentality of someone my own age, even when I was just a little kiddie.

It's not how old you are, it's how old you feel, haha

Take care everybody

I graduated from nursing school 20 years after I graduated from high school. There were several of us around the same age. If I remember right, there were only two "traditional" students in my class of 25. Ages at graduation ranged from 22 to 41. We all got along and age never seemed to be an issue, except when the baby of the class was not old enough to get served at the local pub. :)
