Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

well, it's about time to start this thread, i think!! let's get our bearings and see who all is in the same boat in january!

i finish up the first half of a&p with a comprehensive exam on december 13th and then it's right into the physiology portion of the course. we actually are starting special senses this week and next but will only get the first chapter done.

so .... who else is in? when did you take a&p i and how is your course set up? do you have the prof you want and are you looking forward to it?

i will include the sites from the a&p i thread that might be helpful! i will add/subtract as i get a chance to look through them a bit more or if anyone else suggests some good sites.

~ karen ;-)

Well since she could not lecture us, the test has been bumped to next week AND....... IS OPEN BOOK AND OPEN NOTES!!! Talk about giving someone an A!!

I know you'll do great!!!

I got an 80% on my A&P test and a 72% on my A&P lab test. I am afraid i will not do well in nursing because i cannot get As in A&P. my lab test was worth 50pts and my exam was 100. The class is 600 pts total and i am running an 81% with all my quizzes and other pts. I fear the class will get harder. My teacher said most people who get an A or B in A&P make it through the nursing program, those with Cs usually do not. I will admit i should have studies more for the lab, my daughter was sick and i have felt overwhelmed and procrastinated. I guess i learned my lesson. The good thing is oul lab manual counts as a test so that will help. I could kick myself right now!!!

You can still get the A if you set your mind to it. I never thought in a million years I could have gotten an A- for Anatomy. Last semester I did, and this semester, I am on my way tto do better. You just have to program your mind that you can do it and discipline yourself. Like me, every Saturday I spend 4-7 hours in the lab. I also tape the lecture, rewrite my notes. I also look at the material every single day, so it can stick. It is paying off at the end. With Psychology, sociology or history, you can procrastinate and do well, but with A&P it is almost impossible to procrastinate and expect to do well. Next time, take a make-up exam a different day, so you can do better. 80 is not that bad though, but I am sure you can do better next time. Good luck to you, and I hope you get an A in the class.

Omg!! my prof just gave us the best gift!!

She was sick last week so the lab practicum was postponed to this week. That was the fist gift-an extra week to study the veins and arteries (I think I got a B+). Had that test tonite.

The chapters are on Lymphatic system, Digestive system and Nurtition and metabolism!! Woot!!!

Boy, you sure did get lucky. Good Luck studying with the extra time.

Good job

I'm doing awesome in lab, lecture is a little tougher, but I am really trying hard and I think I'm pulling out of my rut I was in and will get a A in the class. I am soo looking forward to the 2 week break between winter and spring. This semester is really burning me out.

Good luck everyone. :D

Yay! I got a 100% on my quiz on blood. Yippee!

I keep hearing about people talking about extra credit, but we NEVER get extra credit in our class (and never did in A&P I). Anyone else not get any extra credit? I feel like I could use some extra credit right now ;)

Our A&P class got 1 shot at extra credit last semester. 5-15 points for dressing up for halloween LOL! I wore a tight black outfit covered with sticky foam cutouts of humerus bones and I taped note cards (study cards) with one liners to myself and passed them out to my profs:lol2: They seemed to think I was quite humerus LMAO!

Don't feel bad; I don't get any extra credit either.

Thank God for extra credits, both my lab and lecture do extra credits on exams. The extra points really help greatly.
