Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

well, it's about time to start this thread, i think!! let's get our bearings and see who all is in the same boat in january!

i finish up the first half of a&p with a comprehensive exam on december 13th and then it's right into the physiology portion of the course. we actually are starting special senses this week and next but will only get the first chapter done.

so .... who else is in? when did you take a&p i and how is your course set up? do you have the prof you want and are you looking forward to it?

i will include the sites from the a&p i thread that might be helpful! i will add/subtract as i get a chance to look through them a bit more or if anyone else suggests some good sites.

~ karen ;-)

Hey, chica!

Count me in! Will finish A&P I Dec. 15th and will start A&P II on Jan. 9th. It will be my last pre-req. to take before applying to the nursing program!

I will have the same lab instructor for A&P II that I have now. I am VERY happy about that! He's my favorite college prof. I've EVER had!

Angel

(who is sooooo burned out on using her brain to study...the brain!!)

That's awesome!! I'm glad you have good instructors!! I agree re my lab instructor! I heard that before her there was a guy who just sat at the front of the room and told everyone to "work" ... our current instructor is amazing and puts things into terms we can understand. I think she remembers enough what it was like to be learning it for the first time.

Just have to say, Angel .. when I think about dissections or chickens, I always think of you! High praise, don't you think? LOL lmho.gif I am totally there with you on the brain -- my useless one is having trouble making it all stick and I keep thinking about the areas of my brain that are NOT working!

Oh, and admins, thank you thank you thank you for making this a sticky!!!

I'm taking A&P II in the winter :p what systems are you guys studying? We're doing cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, endocrine, and reproductive systems.. I was just wondering because I think we're kind of doing the systems out of order. Do you guys do digestive & urinary in A&P I?

I will be taking A&PII in Jan 06 also. I took A&P1 about 2 yrs ago and need all the help I can get. Thanks for all those great websites!!!

Gwen

Hello Karen,

Taking Anatomy and Physiology II this winter also!

Great SITES!!! THANKS!!!!!

Hey, DOn't know if you have ever been there, but the medical mnemonics website is simply GREAT!!! You might include it in your wonderful list. Just enter the words Medical Mnemonics on your search engine, and you will get to it. I learned the Citric Acid cycle and Electron transport chain this way for a test. This site helped me get an A in Anatomy I last winter. I decided to take English this past fall to get ready to take Anatomy II this winter/spring session. I have kids, so I hate taking major science classes in the Fall sessions. Too much to do with my kids during the fall to add Anatomy to the mix. January is always a less stressfull time for me to take science classes. I take my science classes one at a time so I can devote every waking minute to them and get the highest possible grade in each one of them. It has worked so far... I have an A in Anatomy I; I am hoping for an A in Anatomy II this winter as well. I also have my same Anatomy teacher as well. He likes me too, so we'll see how things work out. To Everybody out there, I HIGHLY recommend the Medical Mnemonics web site. I don't know how to create a link to the site, but I do know that all you need to type is Medical Mnemonics on your search engine to find the page. IT'S GREAT!!!!!! Funny too!!! I memorized many different important things in my first anatomy class using this page!!!!!! I recommend that EVERYONE VISIT IT AT LEAST ONCE DURING ANATOMY!!!!!! I GUARANTEE YOU WILL FIND SOMETHING USEFUL HERE!!!!!

More Later,

Good luck to everyone taking A&P II in the Spring/Winter semester! :)
