  1. CONGRATS!!!! to all of you who received your letters! i got mine last week too and i'm still SOOO overjoyed & excited :) as an added bonus, I also got a promotion+raise at my job! so i've been celebrating all week! haha :balloons:
  2. First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. I went through the same situation. I'm 23 years old also & my husband and I definitely weren't planning to have children for a couple of years. I found out that I was pregnant & after the intial shock, we were VERY excited. However, three weeks later, I miscarried. It really isn't an easy thing to go through, but people cope with it in different ways. This happened to me back in September and I still get a little bitter when I see pregnant women come in the hospital I work at. But at the same time, I know we'll have our little blessing later on down the line.. that's what keeps me going and you should remember that it will happen for you too. You just have to keep looking towards the future =) I wish the best for you!
  3. Is that the one in costa mesa, CA? If so, I've heard of it. My friend is actually in the LVN program there right now.. She told me that the last graduating class' passing rate was over 90% and the facility is rather new. If you have any more questions, just PM me and I'll try to answer them for you or I can ask her. Good luck! =)
  4. Wow. This might sound corny, but I admire you guys.. I really do. :)
  5. How does nursing help you make a difference in others' lives?? And does it make a difference in YOUR life? Just wondering
  6. I'm taking A&P II in the winter what systems are you guys studying? We're doing cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, endocrine, and reproductive systems.. I was just wondering because I think we're kind of doing the systems out of order. Do you guys do digestive & urinary in A&P I?
  7. My school Cal State Univ. Los Angeles also has a BSN program. Their NCLEX passing rate for the past few years is awesome. Of course since there's way too many people applying than can be admitted, they composed "supplemental criteria". I can let you know what they are if you're interested. Just let me know! :)
  8. I'm taking A&P II & Chem next quarter.. so we'll see! :chuckle I'm sure it's doable but it just depends on your own situation. how many other commitments do you have besides school? Work, kids, etc. Are you planning on taking any other classes besides A&P and chem?
  9. Kayel, thank you!! for sharing your notes :) It made the whole concept easier! But I don't think I did so well on the exam :imbar When I looked at the exam, my mind just went blank. That normally doesn't happen to me, so I was kinda freakin out haha anyway I did the best I could & I remembered your little drawings! Julie64, what more can I say that hasn't been said already?? Everyone on this board is so supportive & that's whats great about it. Glad to know that you took the afternoon off to enjoy your family!
  10. I'm taking A&P II & Chem next quarter too. I was debating if I should take another class as well, but my school goes by quarter system and it's much faster, so I think I'm just going to stick to the two sciences haha
  11. I'm taking that class too!! How are you doing in it? It's a lot easier than A&P I and i spend a lot less time on it haha That would be great if you can let me know the "easier to remember" terms! Our exam on Friday is on the Integument, Skeletal & Muscular systems so anything that is simplified would be awesome!
  12. Thanks you two! This helps out a lot! I think I'm finally starting to get it :)
  13. GOOD JOB!! did you use the study guide from the website to study for it?
  14. wow sorry kayel! i didnt even see this reply to my message haha. yeah, she's doing pretty well also. i try to help her out as much as i can, but sometimes when i tell her an answer she tries to tell me i'm wrong. i don't like fighting with people i barely even know so i just let her think whatever she wants & eventually she admits that she was wrong. my intention isn't to be mean to her, but everytime i try to tell her something she just keeps insisting & i dont really have time for that haha well, we've started on muscles & it's HARD!! what's your guys' strategy on making it a little easier.. i mean the physiology part because thats the part that's killing me. i can't seem to concentrate!
  15. YES of course they can call themselves nurses. Why wouldn't they be able to? That's what they are.
