well, it's about time to start this thread, i think!! let's get our bearings and see who all is in the same boat in january!

i finish up the first half of a&p with a comprehensive exam on december 13th and then it's right into the physiology portion of the course. we actually are starting special senses this week and next but will only get the first chapter done.

so .... who else is in? when did you take a&p i and how is your course set up? do you have the prof you want and are you looking forward to it?

i will include the sites from the a&p i thread that might be helpful! i will add/subtract as i get a chance to look through them a bit more or if anyone else suggests some good sites.

You'll do great!

I tell you, you all make me feel like an idiot!!! I think I am gong to have to settle for a C in the class. And believe me I have worked my butt off and studied so hard. I was warned before I took this class with this instructor that her tests were very difficult. That is not just from students, it is also other teachers who told me that and boy were they right. I honestly feel like she purposely makes the tests almost like trick questions. I know we need to be thinking hard but it is honestly way above us all. Now she is far behind in lectures and rushing through renal which is confusing enough anyways. I am just so jealous that all of you seem to be getting A's and B's and are still beating yourselves up. I am normally that way myself but I am telling you this instructor is a bear and I am going to have to settle for a C.

Well, where do I start.

The test was very challenging. I had the same professor last semester. It seemed tonight exam was so different from all the other exams. almost everything she mentioned in class, was not even on the test. It seemed as though she prepared the questions last minute. I know I pass, but I am not sure if I got an A. Thank God for some short answers and the essays in phenotype, autosomal recessive, x linked dominant, autosomal dominant; menstrual cycle and pedigree. We had to calculate possibilities for dominant and recessive, where we did some math problems. I know for a fact most of the students did not do well. She may have to curve it. Hopefully, I will find out Wednesday.

Specializes in Pediatric/Adolescent, Med-Surg.

I just took my lab final. I don't know my score yet, but I'm pretty confident, it was over the reproductive systems. Now to study for the lecture final on Monday!

I am struggling some too. I Just got a B- on the vein and artery lab test. That was isane.

Weds nite we had an open book test and she made it 100 questions, one drawing and one VERY LONG essay on AIDS- with about 6 questions within that one essay. I feel confident I got an A on that one though.

I got a 94 on my lab practical. I emailed the professor about my lecture exam, she did not respond yet. I would like to know today, so I dont have to spend the entire week thinking about how I did.

Okay guys, I have a question concerning the respiratory system. I have an exam in lab tomorrow, and I want to make sure I understand this right.

If you have increased resistance in ventilation, it leads to: shallow, rapid breathing and decreased alveolar ventilation.

If you have increased dead space vol. (conducting zone vol.), it leads to: deep breathing and increased alveolar ventilation.

Does that sound right? I know dead space vol. is a constant 150 ml in everyone, but I have to know what an increase does because of a lab experiment we did.

Any feedback pronto would be appreciated! Thanks!

Angel

I am not doing respiratory until march 20. I wish I can help you.
