well, it's about time to start this thread, i think!! let's get our bearings and see who all is in the same boat in january!

i finish up the first half of a&p with a comprehensive exam on december 13th and then it's right into the physiology portion of the course. we actually are starting special senses this week and next but will only get the first chapter done.

so .... who else is in? when did you take a&p i and how is your course set up? do you have the prof you want and are you looking forward to it?

i will include the sites from the a&p i thread that might be helpful! i will add/subtract as i get a chance to look through them a bit more or if anyone else suggests some good sites.

Ughhhh I am stressing sooo bad right now. My third test for the quarter is on Monday. The test is over endocrine, repro, muscle and cardio. That is just so much for one test and I am really having trouble getting it all down.

Just take it one system at a time and really think about questions that may come up about the information that you're learning. Review, but don't stress over how much you have to do. Good luck!

Hi,

First time here. I hope to find a few friends. We have tests after each system in my A and P class. There ends up being alot of tests but there is not so much information to learn. Good luck everyone!

Shannon

Welcome, Shannon! You will love it here. There is so much valuable information and it is so wonderful to be able to talk with other people in the same boat you are.

I honestly feel like crying right now. That test I took yesterday was so difficult. I worked so hard and studied so hard and after that test, I feel like it was all in vane. I feel like I will be lucky to even pass the test. I am so scared, mad and sad. There sure are times where I just feel like maybe I am just too dumb for this stuff. I love it and I love learning it but it just isnt going well.

Tally

I know the feeling you are having rightnow. I had similar feelings two weeks ago, when I took my lab practical. It turned out that I did better than I thought, got an 86. But when I felt the room, I did not know for sure if I had pass. I hope you did well. Good luck to you.

I really hate the waiting game of waiting for test results. Grrrrrr!!!

Hi Tally, I know the waiting is terrible, but you probably did better than you thought. And just remember that this ONE test is NOT the deciding factor in your grade. You're not dumb, so don't even think that! Get some positive affirmations and say those every day until you start to believe it! What the mind can conceive, you can achieve! (Or something corny like that.. someone told me that a long time ago, lol.) So, YOU CAN BE A NURSE!

Thank you Nurseto be Joy for your kind words! I did do better than I thought but not by much. I got a D. The average was a 54. I still have a very low B in the course, 2 quizzes(which I usually do well on) and the final so hopefully I can just hunker down these last 2 weeks and get that grade up.

You are very welcome.

I got an 80% on my A&P test and a 72% on my A&P lab test. I am afraid i will not do well in nursing because i cannot get As in A&P. my lab test was worth 50pts and my exam was 100. The class is 600 pts total and i am running an 81% with all my quizzes and other pts. I fear the class will get harder. My teacher said most people who get an A or B in A&P make it through the nursing program, those with Cs usually do not. I will admit i should have studies more for the lab, my daughter was sick and i have felt overwhelmed and procrastinated. I guess i learned my lesson. The good thing is oul lab manual counts as a test so that will help. I could kick myself right now!!!

I have a lab practical tonight, female reproduction and lymphatic system. I hope I do well. The lab professor only went over the questions briefly without explaining anything. Basically, I am on my own. I have been studying for days now and hoping to remember everything. I will keep you all posted.

Omg!! my prof just gave us the best gift!!

She was sick last week so the lab practicum was postponed to this week. That was the fist gift-an extra week to study the veins and arteries (I think I got a B+). Had that test tonite.

Then of course we never had the lecture last wk she had planned on the two chapters that was scheduled. The test on the three chapters was supposed to be tonite but we had the lab practicum instead.

Well since she could not lecture us, the test has been bumped to next week AND....... IS OPEN BOOK AND OPEN NOTES!!! Talk about giving someone an A!!

The chapters are on Lymphatic system, Digestive system and Nurtition and metabolism!! Woot!!!

Well, since my school's on the quarter system, I'll be having my lab final next week (over reproduction), it's not cumulative, and my lecture final (cumulative) the week after. Guess I'll be leaving this "club" soon and joining the micro gang. :)
