well, it's about time to start this thread, i think!! let's get our bearings and see who all is in the same boat in january!

i finish up the first half of a&p with a comprehensive exam on december 13th and then it's right into the physiology portion of the course. we actually are starting special senses this week and next but will only get the first chapter done.

so .... who else is in? when did you take a&p i and how is your course set up? do you have the prof you want and are you looking forward to it?

i will include the sites from the a&p i thread that might be helpful! i will add/subtract as i get a chance to look through them a bit more or if anyone else suggests some good sites.

Okay guys, I have a question concerning the respiratory system. I have an exam in lab tomorrow, and I want to make sure I understand this right.

If you have increased resistance in ventilation, it leads to: shallow, rapid breathing and decreased alveolar ventilation.

If you have increased dead space vol. (conducting zone vol.), it leads to: deep breathing and increased alveolar ventilation.

Does that sound right? I know dead space vol. is a constant 150 ml in everyone, but I have to know what an increase does because of a lab experiment we did.

Any feedback pronto would be appreciated! Thanks!

Angel

I all ready did respiratory system, but didn't learn anything about that! Sorry! Have you asked your instructor, classmates, or tried google?

I just took my lab final. I don't know my score yet, but I'm pretty confident, it was over the reproductive systems. Now to study for the lecture final on Monday!

Well I just got my score,....... a 96%!!!!! I was so excited! I started out this quarter with a D in lab and finished up with a B. This is proof positive that just because you fail one exam or assignment doesn't mean it's over.

Congrats NoelChristine That is awesome!!!

Congratulationssssssssssssssssss

Job well done!

That is right, one failed exam does not mean you cant do well in the class. Last semester, I failed one lab practical. I had a rough week, my aunt and my cousin passed away the same week. I had so many histology pictures, it was a big practical. I got a 69. That was my lowest grade. I pulled a 93 for my final grade, got an A- for the course.

I am happy you did so well. Good luck to you.

Thanks everybody. I had my final in lecture on Mon. I figured out my grades and knew I could get a B+ in the class if I only missed one on the exam. I knew it wasn't going to happen, I'm not that smart. Then I checked my score on Webct, 100%, giving me a B+!!!!! :balloons:

Now I'm officially done with A&P II, so I'll be leaving this "club." Good luck to the rest of you in passing A&P II.

Noelchristine, we will miss you. Congratulationssssssssssssss

Good luck to you and stay blessed.

I am done too but did not do as well. I got a 78.5 overall and the teacher would not give me the B. Oh well I know I worked hard this quarter so I will just take the C and smile. Good luck everyone else!!!

Ever feel like you studied everthing possible for a test, only to be asked 10% of the information???? Oh well, at least I was well prepared:rolleyes:

I got an 88 on my exam. After I took the exam, two weeks ago, I did not know how I did. The professor asked questions she never talked about. Thank God the essays were worth about 76 plus points on genetic, which I was good at. I felt that God was with me thoughout the exam. I told my friends, I really thought I got a 70 on the exam. Good luck to all of you.

I am back to school from Spring break.

We just got an assignment to write about comparison and differences between avian and human repro system. Anyone ever do this? I gotta come up with 3 pages, uggghhhh!!!

Thank God I do not have to do any assignment like that.

I have my plate full already with all the organ functions, histologies, and chemistry for A&P 2.

It gets worse- we have a week to do it on top of all our other studd we need to do!
