Took my Nclex yesterday. 130 questions of pure hell. Only about 10 of those were SATA. I walked out believing I failed because I didn't have enough SATA. Did PVT, got good pop up, but still wouldn't believe I passed until this morning when the FL BON updated their site and I got my license number. I'm over joyed. I cried so hard when I saw that I passed. It was like all the stress from years of school and all the problems associated with it came out.

Don't listen to what others say. YOUR Nclex experience may or may not be comparable to stories you heard. Take a deep breath. You can do this!

Congrats! Although several of us post something related to SATA questions quite frequently, there is still a pervasive myth out there that getting SATA questions means something. Most of the time, people mistakenly believe that these are "higher level" questions, and that getting many of them means you are doing well.

Reality is that SATA is simply a format type, like multiple choice, drag/drop, etc. SATA questions can be above-passing standard, or below it. Yet it still remains one of the most stubbornly-heldl misconceptions!

The funny thing about SATA questions is they're really what nursing is like and how you have to think.

My SATA were pretty mild compared to what I had on tests in school. The priority is what was incredibly difficult, and I'm usually really good at them. The ones on NCLEX were way harder than what I'd had in school. Having to pick who to see first when both patients are having serious life threatening issues. So glad it's over and I don't have to do it again!

AMEN to never taking that test again! It's been years since i took the NCLEX and I still remember the horror of those prioritizing questions. First impression was pretty much flip a coin because they are all dying!

My experience is similar to yours! Except I went up to 265 questions with only about 14 SATA from what I remember. I had a ton of priority questions and I agree with you that they were a lot harder than what I practiced. So glad it's over for the both of us and congrats! :)

Congrats on passing RN!!!!!! A coworker and recent former classmate of mine just took her nclex and got her license about 2 weeks ago. She said she had 36 SATA and had all 265 questions. She's in Ohio.

Just took my boards today and I got so many priority I lost count. At least 20 SAA, I also got the full 265. Got the PVT to work, but waiting on that official pass.
