Debunking the SATA Myth.

Published

Took my Nclex yesterday. 130 questions of pure hell. Only about 10 of those were SATA. I walked out believing I failed because I didn't have enough SATA. Did PVT, got good pop up, but still wouldn't believe I passed until this morning when the FL BON updated their site and I got my license number. I'm over joyed. I cried so hard when I saw that I passed. It was like all the stress from years of school and all the problems associated with it came out.

Don't listen to what others say. YOUR Nclex experience may or may not be comparable to stories you heard. Take a deep breath. You can do this!

When it comes to the NCLEX, all that SATA questions mean is that these questions have 1 or more correct answers. There's nothing else behind their appearance.

Congratulations!

Congratulations. I had 75 questions and every other question was a difficult SATA. I thought I failed miserably, but somehow I passed.

Wow only 10? how is it that people claim to have over 30 of those wretched things? huhu

now im a bit relieved but still scared :/

I am one of thos who 'claim to have over 30'. I lost count at 38! I had 113 questions before it shut off. They just kept coming one after the other. Then another alternate format question (drag & drop) the back to the SATA. I would get a breather here and there with the traditional style (mult choice) questions.

How many SATA you get is just luck (or unlucky) of the draw. Several of my fellow nursing students got a bunch like me (one had the min of 75 questions and the majority were SATA) others had less than 10. It didn't seem to matter how many questions you ended up having to answer that had a corrolation of how many SATA...

What did you use as study material to prep for the nclex?

I used ati, lippencotts q&a, lacharity pda, nurse mastery app, Kaplan and I did one live review with Hurst. I did tons of questions and when I didn't understand something I went back and brushed up on it with my medsurg book from school.
