I used to post in this forum awhile ago, then kinda took a break because there was just alot of waiting until I actually got into nursing school. Well, I finally got in and am starting this fall :) I don't feel quite right about posting in the students section though, because I'm not quite there yet. I just wanted to see if there are any other soon-to-be nursing students who are lurking in this forum.
I am hoping to start nursing school fall '10. The school im applying to requires you to take the TEAS before you appy cause the count as a percentage towards whether or not you get and interview. I take my teas this friday the 26th..sure hope i do well so that i can get my app in right away..then comes the nervousness of waiting to hear about an interview!
I start this fall as well. I got accepted to all 3 programs that I applied to (one ADN program, and two BSN programs). I graduate from Michigan State in May with a BS in Health Science so I already have all the pre reqs done, which means I only have to do the nursing courses.
I thought about doing the ADN program because its about $6,000 cheaper than the BSN program but since I only owe $8,000 in federal loans right now (which isnt bad at all) Im going to go the BSN route. The program will only be $18,000 for 3 years so I consider that very cheap compared to the school Im at now.
Congrats everyone!
Just think, in a few months we'll be on the student forum posting questions about our careplans. LOL
OMG! You got your orientation already? wow!I don't get my "registration package" until early June, orientation is at the end of summer. Start school after labor day! I'm so excited, can't wait to get my stuff, stethoscope and all :)
Yeah! I went there and I was in the first group to pick out class/clinicals/labs. My advisor seems very very nice and helpful. I have to take a 1 credit intro to nursing class over the summer, and then start, full speed ahead in the fall. I am in an ADN program. I will be starting clinicals right in the fall. I am so excited over my clinical locations. The one is at one of the best hospitals on the east coast. I did not even know that my school had an agreement with them. I just cannot wait. I am sooo excited, but also sooo scared... Good luck to everyone else, nursing here we come!!!!!
I got accepted to the first and only school I applied to. I'll be attending Forsyth Tech starting Fall 2010. Congratulations to all of you who were accepted...and to those of you who weren't, don't give up!!!!! It just wasn't the right time. Use this time to study up on your meds, lab values, etc. I have found that my local goodwill often has cheap nursing books that I plan to read over the summer. We have orientation next week. I can't wait :) Good luck everyone!
Program starts in August for me. I started co-reqs in January and had some courses transferred in from my B.Sc. in Biology. Trying to decide if I should spend the summer getting personal affairs in order, or if I should push on and complete as many co-reqs as possible - I've only got 3 classes unaccounted for. I've got a pre-ADN advisement session to attend this week, so I'll consult with my student advisor then and see what she recommends.

I am taking the teas test this Saturday and we wont find out if we get into the nursing program until the 2nd week of June. This semester is going by so slow. I am so nervous about the test . I have been studying since December and I took the online practice test earlier today and got a 60%. I hope the real thing is easier than the practice tests. So hopefully I will be added on into the fall program. They only take 32 people and there is usually 150 that apply every year.
