I used to post in this forum awhile ago, then kinda took a break because there was just alot of waiting until I actually got into nursing school. Well, I finally got in and am starting this fall :) I don't feel quite right about posting in the students section though, because I'm not quite there yet. I just wanted to see if there are any other soon-to-be nursing students who are lurking in this forum.
I am! I just found out a couple of hours ago -- or else, I hope it's accurate, because the school's website says I've gotten in, but I haven't gotten an actual letter.
I'm not letting myself think about the remote possibility of a computer error, though; my TEAS scores were good! This is what I keep telling myself because when I first saw it I almost fainted with that shock/glee combination.
I won't be finished with my first degree until mid-August, and for a few minutes I actually contemplated quitting to actually get a summer break before starting. I know I'm only a few months and a billion big scary state tests away, though.
I will hopefully be starting in the Fall of 2010. My major has already been changed to Nursing in Self-Service, but I got an email telling me that I needed two letters of reference. I already had one done at that point and gave the other to my sup last week. I will probably check the status of my app tomorrow, just to make sure I have everything. Hopefully, I will be receiving a formal letter soon.
Got my formal acceptance letter today!!! I'm not sure if I'm going, but I'm happy to have it!
I got the syllabus for the current semester in the bookstore..and I'm already studying medication administration. I plan to look up youtube videos on commonly performed procedures so I have at least seen and reviewed them when the time comes. Also, I'm going to review my CNA skills because that's the first thing you do when you enter nursing school. Over the summer I plan to learn the most commonly used medicines and expand my medical terminology.
Anything I can do to get ahead pretty much. :balloons::stdnrsrck:

I'm starting University of San Diego's Master's Entry Program in Nursing in August. I can't wait to get started!
