I used to post in this forum awhile ago, then kinda took a break because there was just alot of waiting until I actually got into nursing school. Well, I finally got in and am starting this fall :) I don't feel quite right about posting in the students section though, because I'm not quite there yet. I just wanted to see if there are any other soon-to-be nursing students who are lurking in this forum.

I am .
I ha planned on going to an ABSN program next year after graduation but there is the possibility I can get into a program this fall-- and still get financial aid because I won't have a BA yet.
I applied to LIU-Brooklyn and the College of New Rochelle for the Fall '10 semester.
Good luck!
I'm starting an associate's program this fall (abbreviations ASN?), but am a sophomore already, so I have alot of the courses out of the way that I will need to bridge from RN to BSN in the future.

I'll be starting in the Fall too! Yippee! I'll be attending one of the few remaining diploma programs in the Northeast, and from what I understand it is a great program. We start clinical the very first week!!
I already have a B.S. degree and plenty of student loans from that, so I decided to aim for a diploma or ASN program due to cost. I'm really looking forward to starting the actual nursing courses…. we have roughly 185 more days to mentally prepare ourselves!!! Haha!
Congrats on your acceptance and best of luck to you in your program. Have you purchased any supplies yet?

I'm a fall 2010 hopeful! I applied to a BSN program and I'll hear back around June...such a long wait. I'll be transferring in a ton of credits which will make me about half way done.
Ladybug,
What state will you be going to school in? There are actually quite a few diploma schools in Western PA! I almost started one this spring, but due to the commute, decided to hold off and attend somewhere else this fall.
I haven't purchased anything yet, though I kind've want to, just because I have no idea what to get LOL. I haven't gotten my packet yet with all the info on it, just the admission letter with the stuff I had to fill out and send back to confirm my attendance this fall.
How about you? Did you get started with your supplies?
Good luck, thatsthekey :)
CT, so you can probably guess the school since there is only 1. :) It was my first choice over the community college program because of the excellent clinical experience.
I haven't purchased anything yet because I'm still trying to figure out expenses and financial aid. I have to purchase a vehicle first, since I currently live in the city. We haven't received the info pack yet either. We were told we would receive further info in May, which should tell us when orientation is. I believe orientation will be sometime in June, which is when we'll get the book list, a copy of our schedule, and get to meet with the professors and 2nd year students. It is also when we purchase the uniforms and have the chance to purchase books and supplies.
Do you know if your school provides an orientation day? I would think most nursing schools would.

MEE!!! I am a Fall2010 hopeful, should be hearing back end of march!
The letter I received mentioned something about a "group registration" which I'm assuming would be more or less the same as an orientation. They said they would send the information on all of that once they received my confirmation that I would be attending in the fall. I am excited to know more of what's going on :)
Good luck, 2010 rn2b :)

I got into a diploma program. I start the required non-nursing classes in June. Nursing classes start in January of 2011. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.
