I used to post in this forum awhile ago, then kinda took a break because there was just alot of waiting until I actually got into nursing school. Well, I finally got in and am starting this fall :) I don't feel quite right about posting in the students section though, because I'm not quite there yet. I just wanted to see if there are any other soon-to-be nursing students who are lurking in this forum.
I just found out that I am alternate for BCTC ADN program, number 8 on the list. I hope enough people drop out that I get in. They told us that there are usually 1000+ applicants for around 100 slots in the program.
The wait is going to agonizing, I just don't know what to do about registering for fall now or where I am going to go. My backup plan is to just go to graduate school, but that means prepping to take the GRE.
I got accepted to start this fall...im so excited, i just don't know what to do till then to keep me busy! I cannot wait! We have orientation the 30th of April and then in the summer we get to have a BBQ with the nursing grads of 2010...so that exciting to get some first hand info! Good luck everyone and congrats!

DCoffill,
Congratulations, where did you get accepted?
congratulations to those who have been accepted thus far!!
i just got my letter via certified mail today!!!! sooooooooooooo excited!!! i'll be starting at randolph community college adn program fall 2010 (asheboro, nc)!!!! it's such a relief finally knowing and now i can plan accordingly. so much to do this summer: take a&p ii, get a physical, a new laptop would be nice, move, etc...
I'm very excited to be joining this thread!!
I got accepted into the ABSN program at MedCentral College of Nursing on Tuesday afternoon.
I haven't heard from my other schools yet (Otterbein & OSU-Columbus, both traditional 3-year BSN's), but MedCentral was my first choice, since it's an accelerated program and I already have a previous degree (BA--Anthropology).
I'll be starting in mid-June and should graduate in August 2011.
Now begins the fun stuff: getting AHA-BSL certified, arranging funding, getting insurance/vaccinations, ordering uniforms, & studying math/conversions for the Medication Dosing exam, which is given during the first six weeks of class.
Happified.

I'm finishing up this Spring semester, applying again and I should be in. No doubt.
