  1. It worked for me and several people from my class.
  2. I took mine this week and it had everything on it.
  3. I always feel the same way towards the end of the semester. My advice is to do nothing related to school during your break between semesters. I also like to make small goals that I can check off, like x amount of days until a certain test I am freaking out about. It makes me feel like I have accomplished something big and am even closer to my big goal, to be a nurse. There is also a strange satisfaction that comes from checking things off a list. Good luck to you!
  4. Confuzzledwife- Thank you for your post. I have been working in a LTC for about two weeks. A few nights ago it was only me and another new girl working (Both our first jobs). Usually there are four. I went at least four hours without sitting down, getting a drink, or going to the bathroom. Residents were mad at me for not answering call lights fast enough, bed checks were rushed, it was just bad. I ended having to stay over an hour to help out days. When I got home I could barely walk and was sick from not eating or drinking. It makes me so mad that these places can get away with this. It's not fair to the residents or us. I am about to start LPN classes in the fall. Is there anyone out there who had similar experiences as a CNA, but went on to become a nurse and loves it? This place is making me think twice about getting into the nursing field. I wanna be able to give my patients the time and attention they deserve. I am thinking about checking into the hospital and seeing if I could possibly shadow a nurse in home or hospice care. Any advice?
  5. I am excited and had to share! Just got my acceptance letter for the fall LPN program. Gosh, my hands are still shaking. I am so happy I have had this web site to get me through the last four weeks of waiting. Good luck to all of you waiting for your letters!
  6. We had to take the paper version, which I like better, but that means waiting for the results. Good luck:clown:
  7. The test is english, math, and science. The english had short stories with questions and vocab words. The math was pretty basic stuff-fractions, word problems, etc. Just watch your time on the math. I kept checking my answers and wasn't even half way done with only 20 mins left. The science had a lot of physics and bio. I found some really great kids science and math sites online that were great reviews. I thought I totally failed it, but ended up with a pretty good score, so don't panic. Wear a watch and keep track of your time and remember to breath. Good Luck!
  8. I really feel for you!! I am a new CNA as well and I know how it is. It really annoys me the way some of the other CNA's treat the residents. My first day one of them stood outside a resident's room and said this one is a whiny &*$#@, watch out for her. Besides the fact that every place seems to be under staffed and not very willing or able to properly train new CNA's. I just keep reminding myself that if I ever get burned out to that point, then I will quit. I don't ever wanna be like them. I really hope everything works out, because there need's to be more CNA's out there like you! Keep your head up!:)
  9. Congrats! You will do just fine! Thank you for posting, it makes me feel much better about my chances.
  10. Alexa123- I know how you feel. I have been out of school for 9 yrs. The verbal part was pretty crazy. I felt like I was guessing on most of them. I just don't want to take it over. Our deadline is March 1, so starting next week I am going to be a crazy person until I get that letter. Ugh, it makes me sick just thinking about.
  11. I took my test this month and got a 124 in the 86%. I am applying to a smaller community college and I do know that someone got in last year with a lower score. I am not sure what size your school is, but the bigger it is the more competition you have. I thought it was a really good score until I read some of the others on this site! Seems like they are all mostly in the 130's and up. I dont know maybe people with lower scores just dont want to post them and I understand. It's just making me freak out a bit. Good luck to everyone and please update :)
