Who is your Favorite TV or Movie nurse?

Over the years their have been a few actors that have done justice to the role of nurse.

Who is your favorite TV or movie Nurse?

What about "Julia" from the late '60's. Working, single mum. I think her husband was supposed to have died in VietNam.

how about Nurse Dixie McCall from that old show about those two paramedics - I think it had "Emergency" in the title - she had the best starched white uniform ever!!! Colleen McMurphy from China Beach was way cool also.

I forgot about Kitty Foreman!!! I loved the episode where the pot-head Leo (Tommy Chong) was her patient at the hospital, and he totally fell in love with her because of the way she took care of him. I thought it was sweet.

Bonnie Hunt, the actress, used to be an oncology nurse in Chicago.

Hmmmm... I like the nurse from the play "Wit", which was also made into an HBO movie. She was a great advocate for her patient (the lead character), who had cancer. She was kind.

I also like Houlihan from MASH. Another vote for her. =)

My favorite TV nurse is Helen Rosenthal on St. Elsewhere...played by actress Christina Pickles. I agree with you guys...Houlihan from MASH and McMurphy from China Beach were also good. We also watched the HBO movie WIT in my Heathcare Communications class...excellent movie. :)

Well, I have two favorites. The first is Julie London on Emergency. She was the epitome of the early 70's nurse with her starched white uniform. She was not the star of the show, but it was nice to see her each episode. I have to say that I like her music better than her acting, though she was good at both. My second fave is Cloris Leachman as Nurse Diesel in High Anxiety. She was TOO funny in that movie. No one could have played that part better!
