Nurses Medications
Published Feb 24, 2011
I want to read about medications that are nornally given by nurses, what do you normally deal with on your floor? I'm hoping to see a common drug list, but who knows...
Thanks.

Any such list is going to vary wildly based on the floor and unit specialty.
That, I do believe, is the intent.

Analgesia, anti-biotics, anti emetics, (those 3 in large volumes) anti coagulants, anti hypertensives sliding scale insulin.
I work on an post operative ward. We do a lot of bowel surgery so we don't give aperients as they put pressure on anastomotic sites. We use metaclopramide (Maxalon) to improve gut motility.
