I want to read about medications that are nornally given by nurses, what do you normally deal with on your floor? I'm hoping to see a common drug list, but who knows...

Insulin, coumadin, metoprolol, omeprazole, hydrocodone.

Plenty of antibiotics: cefoxitin, flagyl, ampicillin, ciprofloxacin, zosin (Piperacillin and Tazobactam)

Insulins, dilaudid, oxy, lortab, imaginary can of whoop *** for the person who told the pt that they can get their narcotics prn q1 hr.

Any such list is going to vary wildly based on the floor and unit specialty.

There is no top 5 for me, More of top 5 categories.
iv pain meds (dilaudid,morphine, toradol)
antiemetics (zofran, phenergan)
Insulins,
iv abx,
sleep/antianxiety meds (ambien, restoril, ativan)
bp meds

Blood thinners (particularly Lovenox and Heparin)
