What nursing specialty interests you the most for the future?

Specializes in Adult Psychiatry, Correctional/Forensic Psychiatry.

I am just going to be starting nursing school in the fall, but as of right now from doing research, watching shows and hearing from people with the experience, I'm leaning toward perioperative (OR) nursing. How about you?

I finish in december, and got a job offer in a NICU yesterday.

I am really fascinated by neonates/infants and how fragile they are. Really cool environment.

OR is also awesome! If you do OR you will really know your anatomy inside and out.

Specializes in NICU, ICU, PICU, Academia.

"Watching shows" is a TERRIBLE way to decide on a career area. Seriously.

Before I started nursing school I was interested in women's health/OB. I am currently in Med/Surg and Maternity clinicals...and I am disliking every minute of my Maternity class and clinical. Don't get me wrong, I love working with patients and enjoy the experience I am having and am learning a lot, but I now know that women's health/OB is NOT what I want to do.

I am, however, loving every minute of my Med/Surg class and clinical.

So, moral of the story...things may change;)

Im an RN working at a Day Training Center for special needs adults. I love it! I've finally found my calling.

radiology, specifically becoming an interventional radiology NP.

Emergency, I love the treat 'em and street 'em mentality. I'm also a bit of an adrenaline junkie.

Flight nurse or forensic nurse but we'll see what happens. Both require years of experience and extra schooling.

I love fertility and labor and delivery

I'm still a student and I'm scared I won't be able to handle a fast paced environment but we will see

I guess you didn't see the "research" and "hearing from people with experience" part.
