Canadian nurse looking to move
What part of Florida will you be moving to? I am in South Florida where they no longer hire LPN's in hospitals. But you will find opportunities in nursing homes, home health, rehabs, adult daycares, etc. Start looking for jobs before you move to see what is out there, and approximately what your pay will be. Good Luck!

Wages
You have to look at what the average pay is for your area. I would assume Tennessee is lower than national average, but $17.50 does seem a bit too low.

give up
ATI might be the issue. I loved ATI during school because it helped with the actual nursing classes, but for NCLEX prep it is seriously lacking. ATI questions are nothing like NCLEX questions! I always recommend uWorld. The rationales are awesome and the questions are similar to what you see on the NCLEX.

Contracts?
In my area contracts for new grads are more common than not. I will be signing a 2year contract to work at a hospital I really like, and it's $5,000 to break it. This seems to be standard, however, a classmate of mine just signed a 3year/$10,000 contract. I really need a job and I got a job offer from a hospital I really look forward to working at, plus 2 years really isn't that long.

Hep C and titerd
This may sound like a stupid question, but I really don't know...what is synthetic urine?? And people who use illegal or even unprescribed drugs risk their jobs. So yes, if they find it it may cost you the job. But that is totally out of your control right now. Right now it seems you don't know what (if anything) they found. Take it as something to learn from, and try not to panic.

Hep C and titerd
Is Hep C something they told you they will test for? Usually it is just a Hep B titer. And when you go in for the drug test bring your prescriptions with you...that way when you test positive for something you will have proof of a legitimate reason for it to be there. But I definitely have never had a Hep C titer drawn for work. Also, to help ease your concerns, I'm sure there are many nurses with Hep C...I don't see how having it would cost you your job or prevent you from working with patients. Just like I'm sure there are nurses with HIV who work with patients...you can not be discriminated against for this.

What is the Registered Nurse Patient Ratio at your hospital?
Are these at a real hospital or just what you wish the ratios were???

June NCLEX takers
Thanks! I studied on and off for a month. My school used ATI (which is Nothing like the NCLEX by the way), Saunders, PDA, and uWorld. I really like uWorld, and highly recommend it...it was close to the questions on the NCLEX. I never focused on scores, so I can't even tell you what they were. I was more worried about understanding the material. I would suggest using more than one source to study from, and read all rationales...even for the ones you got correct.

UWORLD %'s?
If you do a search you will see that the average score is in the 50's so your score is decent. However, focus less on the score and focus more on getting comfortable with the questions and reading all the rationales. Good Luck!
