What part of Florida will you be moving to? I am in South Florida where they no longer hire LPN's in hospitals. But you will find opportunities in nursing homes, home health, rehabs, adult daycares, etc. Start looking for jobs before you move to see ...
You have to look at what the average pay is for your area. I would assume Tennessee is lower than national average, but $17.50 does seem a bit too low.
ATI might be the issue. I loved ATI during school because it helped with the actual nursing classes, but for NCLEX prep it is seriously lacking. ATI questions are nothing like NCLEX questions! I always recommend uWorld. The rationales are awesome and...
In my area contracts for new grads are more common than not. I will be signing a 2year contract to work at a hospital I really like, and it's $5,000 to break it. This seems to be standard, however, a classmate of mine just signed a 3year/$10,000 cont...
This may sound like a stupid question, but I really don't know...what is synthetic urine?? And people who use illegal or even unprescribed drugs risk their jobs. So yes, if they find it it may cost you the job. But that is totally out of your control...
Is Hep C something they told you they will test for? Usually it is just a Hep B titer. And when you go in for the drug test bring your prescriptions with you...that way when you test positive for something you will have proof of a legitimate reason ...

If you do a search you will see that the average score is in the 50's so your score is decent. However, focus less on the score and focus more on getting comfortable with the questions and reading all the rationales. Good Luck!
Congrats! I took mine this morning and feel iffy. I just had so many SATA...like more than 50%! Now the 48 hour wait begins.... Thanks for sharing your story!
I have a good friend of mine who went to a private school for MA training. $24,000 later she can not find a job and is going back to school for Healthcare Admin. She told me that the school was very misleading telling her that hospitals have a great ...

Congrats!! And thank you for sharing your experience! Just took mine this morning....so now I'm gonna keep busy and sleep a lot for the next 48 (or 51, LOL) hours:)
I took my test this morning. Got 75 questions, the majority of which were SATA. I had no other alternative format questions (ie. dosage calc, hot spots, etc.), and finished in 1.5 hrs. It was tough but not bad. I had a lot of application and educati...
