What kind of holiday bonus do you get?

Published

Just curious what different hospitals, clinics, organizations etc are giving their staff over the holidays this year. As a nurse I've never gotten more than a couple hundred bucks as a Christmas bonus but it's always appreciated when employers give a little extra. What are you getting this year? Cash? Coffee mug? Please share!

Specializes in ICU.

One LTC facility I work at gives us a $50 gift card and a free turkey or ham.

The other one...Nothing. There's been lots of complaining among the staff lately due to dangerously low staff and so maybe this year we will get a $10 gift card. I'm not holding my breath.

My new position gave everyone but me a bonus (sniff).. I'm a per diem, but required to work every day. No biggie, but heck even a few dollars would have been appreciated. =)

Specializes in Acute Care Pediatrics.

Our end of year "bonus" ends up being a little over $600 if you worked full time and are in good standing.

And they gave us a duffle bag. *LOL*

This holiday, I got a voucher that could be used for a turkey, a ham, or at a local business that makes artisan breads and jams. And this Christmas, I work and will get holiday pay. More than I got when I worked as a unit secretary at a Catholic hospital.

My holiday bonus is having a job where I made over 70k as a new grad in my first year.

Yeah, really! A lot of people were asking me what I was doing to celebrate graduating and I was like....WORKING?! Having a job IS my graduation present!

A "holiday" bonus?

You're kidding, right?

If not, any "holiday" bonus here is no more than one more add-on to the already crushing workload.

!! We get a $5 voucher for the hospital cafeteria and if we work Christmas Day, a complimentary turkey dinner.
