What you get for nurses week

Published

I just found out that Cinnabon is giving nurses a free cinnabon for nurses week. Just what my plump and juicy butt needs... :yeah:

In clinical today, they had sandwiches for the nurses....that Cinnabon sounded pretty good.....

This year the hospital changed the scrub dress code for nurses. Again. So all the nurses and nursing staff get scrubs. Nice.

I once got a coffee mug (with the company logo) filled with peppermints. I'm sure that one didn't break the budget!

Specializes in ICU, Cardiac.

Nothing at all this year - our hospital did not even acknowledge it in any way........

They do wonder frequently why moral is so low....

Specializes in NICU, Infection Control.

We got something like this, only not this expensive:

Specializes in ICU of all kinds, CVICU, Cath Lab, ER..

one year we received an "EMERGENCY MED. KIT" for our vehicles...all the aspirin, gauze bandages, etc. were WELL OVER A SIX MONTH'S PERIOD OF EXPIRED!!!!!

this year we got an emergency car kit - jumper cables and screwdrivers, stupid stuff.

oh, yes, and news that the 3.50 we receive for weekend only option will no longer be given (June 1st).... I am looking for a position else where.

Happy Happy Nurses' Week. By the way, we asked where our goodie basket was for night shift, weekends..... "we only treat the night shift from Monday to Thursday". I wonder how the administrators will feel being forced back to bedside on the weekendnights when we all leave??

I got a thermos this year-a really nice quality one too. In past years it was tote bags, drink bottles, penlights, and insulated lunch bags. If you don't mind the company logo, the gifts have all been put to good use.

Specializes in Utilization Review.

We had a few choices: umbrellas, totes, shirts, sweatshirts, lunch bags all with the company logo.

I chose a very cozy sweatshirt. We were also given a very nice luncheon.

My hubby, who is a nurse at the hospital, got a fold-up seat that is also an insulated cooler. But last year's gift was sunglasses. They were awful.

Specializes in Med-Surg.

We got a very nice carrying case, similar to a lap top carrying case. Along with some treats and other things. I bought everyone I work with sandwiches and spent $200 of my tax money. :)

Specializes in Assisted Living, Med-Surg/CVA specialty.

This year I got a blue & white mesh bag (like a small tote bag) with the hospital logo on it, along with "Happy Nurses Week" on the side of it.

Inside was a $5 coupon to the cafeteria (the open to employees and visitors, its expensive... the cheaper cafeteria is employees only) that I dont have time to go to.

Specializes in Emergency Department.

We got lunch boxes and a nice t shirt. they also had a diffrent activity each day. we had breakfast one day, rovoing massage therapist on tuesday, a BIG lunch wed, thur they gave us movie passes, and friday we had a cookout

Tweety, you forgot that I'm a new employee on your unit ;)

We got a poster by the time clock thanking us this year. Last year we got a choice between a really nice carry on bag or coasters. I picked the bag because it's perfect for going on vacation. Lots of pockets that zip and small enough to fit under the seat in front of you on the plane.

You can claim all of this???

Something just struck me: we shouldn't have to pay taxes as we are almost govt. employees, as most if not all of the pt's I take care of are elderly and on medicare, which as it stands is a govt. program.
