I just found out that Cinnabon is giving nurses a free cinnabon for nurses week. Just what my plump and juicy butt needs...
In clinical today, they had sandwiches for the nurses....that Cinnabon sounded pretty good.....

$50 gift cards to Outback Steakhouse and lunch served.
I want to work where you do. Sounds much better than sandwiches :nuke:

For Nurses' Week, I had the pleasure of attending a 2 hour meeting on motivating and upgrading a medical surgical unit. I did get paid to go :bowingpur so yippee there... and BTW they mentioned that they got "gifts" for us, but they are not in yet.....??????? I am praying that the gift it not another stress ball! Or plastic coffee mug or water bottle....
Maybe a key chain??????
Yes, they are fairly good to us on this. It is the perk in private practice, I will miss it when I have to start p/u shifts in hospital during NS in Aug.

we got a foldup chair for outdoor events, a small cooler and a movie night (drive in type on the parking lot). They provide hot dogs, etc with the movie. Something the whole family can enjoy.

Me? Not a !@#$ thing ... I currently work for the cheapest, cheesiest outfit I've ever worked for in my entire career. There is a schedule posted around the facility -- they're having, like, a little party with cake and ice cream, but in the middle of the day, so I doubt any of us 3rd shift people are going to get up and make a special trip in for cake and ice cream ...

What!! I am so jealous. I have never gotten anything like that. That actually shows some appreciation. My hospital always gives something lame like an umbrella w/their logo on it. It's nothing but free advertising under the guise of a gift.

Let's see, I got a bouquet of purple carnations, a whole bag of Three Musketeers mini mint candy bars and my husband took me out to dinner at Chili's. From my hospital I got nothing. I called Monday night and asked if there was anything special scheduled for the nurses, like in the past a lunch or breakfast, and was told no. Good thing I treated myself!!!
