Sure, as long as one can afford it.

I live in Omaha and with 20+ years of experience I was making $27/hour. Very low compared to what I was making in Arizona (over $40/hr).

What setting do you work in? I am just curious as I also reside in Omaha and I found a lot of jobs as a new grad that advertised starting out between $28-30/hour.

I am disabled now, but 2 years ago when I worked, I worked as a Telephone Triage RN in a very large clinic.

Specializes in New Critical care NP, Critical care, Med-surg, LTC.

Small NE hospital, 7 years RN, union scale. $33.49 base, $3.75 eve diff, $4.50 night diff, $5 weekend diff. And the life changing $1.25 charge diff (not worth the headache).

Northern California (not Bay Area though). $70/hour. Other hospitals in the area pay up to $90/hour for same level of experience but don’t have the same benefits.

Specializes in Cardiology.

Cleveland: Lowest is $26-27/hr for new grads. Shift diff depends on the hospital. The county hospital and VA pay more than the 2 private hospitals.

napswithcats, Ouch 30/hr in San Diego? That seems very low in relation to rental costs, gas prices, etc,. I see all over the forums people talking about 50-60 an hour in California, but I think this is usually more like San Fran and LA. Why is San Diego so much lower, are rental prices a good amount lower there than majority of other major cities in California?

It is a very ghetto skilled nursing facility, the local ghetto hospital pays $32 an hour. Other hospitals do start at around 45$ for new grads
