Has anyone done the WGU online RN to BSN program?

Has anyone taken any classes from , the RN to BSN program? It looks like a great program, but the classes are not your typical pay per class style. They go by a 6 month period, you pay a fee for that period and can take or test out of as many classes as you would like.

I also like the fact that when I told them I could not start until the fall of 2010 they kept my name and information on file and update me once a month, but are not pushing. I filled out a form for info on another college 2 days ago and they haven't stopped calling, calling, calling since. I do not like the pressure tactics. Thank you.:uhoh3:

I'm still at . I've finished five courses, but I'm stuck in biochemistry. At this rate, I'm thinking there is no way for me to pass and am thinking it will be necessary to quit the program. I avoid everyone to stay away from this school because of the disorganized mess that is biochemistry.

Hi I know this thread is years old but I am looking into as well and I live in Hollywood Florida. Have anyone completed the program or had any problems with the board accepting the BSN?

An RN-to-BSN program doesn't require board approval because you have to already be a licensed registered nurse in order to be in the program in the first place. Essentially, you're just adding more credentials behind your name to make you a more desirable employee.

I'm sorry I should have been more specific. I'm referring to their prelicense nursing program. I wanted to know if anyone had any problems sitting for the boards.

WGU is fully accredited. It's accredited by each of the state's BON where it is offered (CA, Indiana, Florida, Utah and Texas), programatically accredited by CCNE, and regionally accredited. So no you should have no problems sitting for boards.

Here is the nclex passrate link for Florida (from their state board website) for students in 2016: http://floridasnursing.gov/forms/rn-pass-rate-4q-2016.pdf

It states they had a 100% nclex passrate. So that's reassuring. I know Florida is one of the newer states that the prelicensure program is being offered.

Thank you sooooooooo much! It definitely is reassuring to see that for myself. I'm super excited to get accepted. I should find out towards the ending of march or beginning of April.

I'm having problems staying on track. I've just started my 2nd semester and am just 1/3 of the way into my 2nd class. I'll never graduate at this rate...

Biochem was awful. Statistics is tedious.

I hope it gets better when I start my nursing classes.

Yeah what the heck is up with Biochem?

You are not the only one....I flunked out of it too.

I just completed my BSN at . Loved the program and some courses are just more difficult than others- like biochem. The online platform is very flexible and there are no mandatory discussion boards or synchronous classes, everything at your pace and schedule. They do offer cohort webinars for most courses and you can attend live or view recorded webinars. Statistics had very good cohort webinars throughout the course and that really got me through it. I am currently looking into a clinical masters program or I would have stayed on for the MSN. The word out is that within the next year or two they will be offering an online NP program.
