Hi Shandricka84, I like WGU but it's definitely not easy. I commute 4 hours while my other classmates commute between 1-2 hours. I am learning a lot but I had to switch jobs in order to study more. Time management is definitely a challenge. Good luck

Hi clbaldwin, I started clinicals in my 2nd term. Clinicals are doable if your employer is flexible with the schedule. You may have days or nights during the week or weekends, it all depends on the schedule provided. I was not an LPN,I have a BS in Health Science but not nursing. This program is challenging but nursing school is not easy regardless of where you attend.

We don't have to turn in any task. We have an OA in the end. In between, we have a lot of reading and videos to watch to help us understand the material. They also have an optional cohort to help keep us on track if we need the help and reminders. They have "check your understanding" after each section to see if we understand the material as we work through it. It's just a lot of information and I'm not sure if I am retaining it. I have an appointment to meet with a course mentor in a few days but I want to make sure I am prepared.

Hi dsjones, did you start the program in Florida? I just got accepted and wanted a heads up or pointers on what to expect with the coursework, in person labs, clinical, commute etc. Any info will help :)

Thank you so much. Yes they did. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I was looking into this program for over a year and I had to retake anatomy for a higher grade so it's been a long process for me. It was suppose to start June 1st but I am glad I will get started earlier than expected.

Hi Chiro54, I haven't heard anything yet. I think they are finalizing the candidates so I should hopefully hear something next month. From my research, it seems like a very good program so I hope I get in. I will keep you posted as soon as I received any updates.

I'm sorry I should have been more specific. I'm referring to their prelicense nursing program. I wanted to know if anyone had any problems sitting for the boards.

Hi I know this thread is years old but I am looking into WGU as well and I live in Hollywood Florida. Have anyone completed the program or had any problems with the board accepting the BSN?

I am so happy to see that there are other applicants that are looking into this program that resides in Florida. I am waiting to see if I get in for June as well. I have completed everything and retook anatomy for a higher grade. Now it's just the waiting game for me.
